Tempted to move the cuff buttons on mine. No one has wrists that big, Flat Head.

      Think it, be it.

I have long arms, most people would see how FH shirts fit on a tall skinny guy like me and say the sleeves are too short, but I just don't care.  I'm willing to accept that in exchange for a good fit in the shoulders/chest.  Though interestingly enough, I've noticed that on most Japanese people the sleeves look a little short too, to some extent it's an intentional part of the style.

I have the same issue. I don't mind the shorter sleeves, I try to just own it. I'm pretty lanky though so sometimes it comes off as clownish. In any case, in a lot of vintage workwear photos I've noticed sleeves as being just barely or even above the wrist. So not only is it an internationally accepted look, I think it has some historical basis as well. Of course, in the end, you clothes only look as good as your attitude!

I've said this many times before but I agree re shorter sleeves. Sleeves that even go remotely past your wrist just look so sloppy to me… Can't stand it, so I prefer them to end right at the bone on my wrist. I think it's a chill look and for me it's an indicator that I've sized correctly...

Their wabash shirt is so amazing. The fabric is seriously awesome and I love how hairy it is….. I would've picked it up in a heartbeat except that it's the only FH shirt I've tried that didn't fit me well. Well it did, except that the arms were wayyyyy too big and were about an inch too long.... Do you find it like that too?

I don't know if I've ever seen that particular shirt fit anyone well in the arms.

I eventually picked up a size 40. Sleeves are perfect, but chest, shoulders and neck are roomy (nitpicking here) and could be a size 38. I feel real uncomfortable if my sleeves are too short, would be tugging at them all day.. Don't have any problems with the width of the sleeves though.
I'll try to do a fit pic for you soon.

I agree about the attitude part, but I guess I don't have that attitude..

grandmasterben, here's a quick fitpic. For me the sleeve length is perfect (it even crept up a little bit on this pic). The bottom of the cuff is indeed a bit wide, but because of the weight and thickness of the denim, it does not bother me. But I have seen seen a pic of an added button here (last pic, with fantastic fade!):

This would be my favorite shirt if it were cut better. It's so trim through the torso I had to get a 44, and the sleeves are long in that. I don't mind that style of cut on a western, but it doesn't make sense on a work shirt.

It needs a looser torso and smaller sleeves. Still a favorite which I will wear today.

                    Think it, be it.

Wait a minute….what the heck? That loons perfect on you and the sleeves are in total proportion with the body. Is that the diamond and dots version? It's just so weird because I never have problems with giant arms but this wabash looks so strange on me...did you give it a hot wash or anything?

You make me lust for this shirt even more, have to cut some knots eventually and decide on getting it.
Possibly i will get the R-version that's cut a bit wider in the body, the rest of the measurements should be the same, i also have relatively long arms so i shouldn't have a problem with the sleeve lenght.

The fades on the shirt you linked are just plain sick!

It's the diamond and dots version and it's proportions are still the same as the day it arrived.
What I understand from Mich there are 2 fits, R and W. I have the 7012W.
To get some perspective: I am 1.77m, 70 kgs. Normallly wear S or 36 (if the sleeves are long enough)

The Flat Head make some of their shirts in a regular fit but not many. However, the W at the end of an item number such as 7012w denotes the fact it has been washed so will have little or no shrinkage. R is the code for the regular fit (as opposed to normal slimmer version)

Here is a pic of my paisley.  I had given up on Flat Head shirts a few years ago since the shoulders on the size 42 were always too big and the stomach of size 40 was too tight.  The Flat Head houndstooth still remains one of my favorite patterns and I really do wish that shirt fit me.  I was in Self Edge a few weeks ago and tried on a size 40 paisley.  The fit shocked me!

                                  Material
There are alternate rows of white polka dots and paisley.  The paisley consists of shapes that resemble teardrops and flowers with 4 petals.  The weight seems similar to my IHSH-26 and a bit thinner than my IHSH-21.

                                  Fit
The shoulders, chest, sleeves, and length are all perfect.  My only improvement would be to make the sleeves a bit narrower.  Note that the shoulder measurement on the Self Edge website is a bit larger than reality.  We measured the shoulders again in the store and determined them to be slightly less than 18in.

                                  Details
The amazing details include white cat eye buttons, selvedge gussets, a selvedge placket, chain stitched seams, and "Flat Head and Co" written in white on the inside of the placket.

                                  Summary
One of the main reasons I became such an Iron Heart fan is because the shirts fit me so well.  I'm glad that Flat Head has realized that not everyone has huge shoulders.  I'm glad that I can finally wear one of their shirts.  I really like their patterns and designs and it would be great if I could fit into their future shirts as well.

Nice fit! And for what it's worth when I tried on the paisley it didn't seem to fit me any differently than any of flat head's other shirts….
