    @Megatron1505:

    As a parent of a young chaos bringer I envy the space and lack of clutter.

    Yes.  This is absolutely true.  I'd want to sub in an Eames lounge chair and ottoman, but otherwise it's pretty perfect.

      I have clutter. It's just not migrated from the garage to the living room yet.

      Chris, the Eames Lounger is nice, but I find them a touch small, even in the upsized version.

        I confess, Graeme, my desire for the Eames is based only on appearance, not actual experience sitting in one.  And your garage looks far less cluttered than mine, so my envy is still intact.

          Bah! That is a feeble amount of cutter Graeme, I wish my attic was as tidy as your garage.

            I wish I had an attic, so I could stash the overflow of crap somewhere besides my garage.

              OK, so I'm pretty poor at collecting clutter. 😃

              Chris, the Eames lounger is pretty comfortable, but I'm a bit tall to fit in them properly. In fact, you can get modern versions in a larger size than the originals.

              I found the Jaime Hayon Lounge Chair to be a bit better. There's also an ottoman for this.

              And there's also the Michael Malmborg version, but I haven't seen one close up.

                Natural source of heat… In the warmer months the sun is situated higher, so then it luckily doésn't do this...

                  I'm one of @ least 2 on this forum who own the Eames Chassis and Ottoman. They are extremely comfortable for a solid multi-hour reading sessions. I used to literally spend all night reading in the chair without any need to move (water and snacks next to me).

                  Modern replicas are tacky to me. The Eames Chassis is celebrated, at least partly, for it's new methods of construction/materials. It's time/era specific, which is now part of it's history. There's also part of the couple Charles/Ray behind it, and their ethos of creating, play, work. Like a lot of their designs, it's become iconic due to all of this, as well as the mystique. These modern replicates neglect all of that, and quite frankly, don't look any where near as nice.

                    Here's our home, it's not large or posh in any way but it's a home and fairly typical of English houses from the 1920/ 30's.

                          Here are a few new pictures, we're getting really close to being finished.  Our final inspection is coming up in a week or two and we're rushing to tie up all the loose ends beforehand.

                            And the welders left their marks on the already painted ceiling? Damn.
                            Great pictures.

                              The painters are coming out to finish the doors and to do touch ups so it's not a big deal at all.
