Thanks for your response Giles, which I missed for some reason. I think you are right, as my best fitting jeans (always worn with a belt) have stretched to 34".

First post! Hi, y'all. I want to add a pair of 705s to my collection, but it seems that I won't be able to find one in a 34 or 36. I wear 36 in my 634s, and 9634s, and I have some 301s07BKs in 38 which are sort of too big now that they've stretched a bit. I'm wondering if anyone out there has a lead on a 36, or can advise whether I would be silly to go for a 38. Cheers!

I think a 38 would be a bit big. I think you'd be happier with a 36. If you're not opposed to used clothes, you might check the buying selling section.

That being said, I rock a 38 in my 634-XHS and a 40 in my cargo pants, just depends on the looks you're going for. How's your 36s fit? Snug? Baggy?

Yeah, those look a little baggier than my 36 634s and definitely baggier than the 301s 38s fit, but I have a bit of a different body type than you–girl hips, y'know...

Thanks for the input! I'm pretty sure that from the 705 measurements and previous experience with cargos, I should shoot for a 36, and could probably fit a 34. Most pants that I wear a 36, including my IHs, always need a belt!

My recommendation is to size down one in these. Personally, I'd size down 2. This fabric stretches a decent amount.
