RE: IHJ-135-IND - 13oz Oxford Cloth Riders Jacket - Indigoposted in Jackets
@Danimal506 sorry for the late reply. We're now in the middle of the "cold" season here in Austin.
I was hoping to score a leather jacket in time for the "cold" season from a brand in Scotland (wink wink) but the skin they ordered for it hasnt arrived yet...
So I ride with a modified type III IH jacket (the one dyed in indigo) over a tshirt, a thin merino hoodie and a regular hoodie with a scarf to block out the drafts and it's very, very bearable.
I just arrived back home from a 50 mile ride and it was beautiful. Man I love Texas

RE: Booksposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
Yes I got myself a book by Chuck Palahniuk. Its on my pile. Its going to have to wait a bit because I've just started 1026 page "The Border Trilogy" by Cormac McCarthy and it reads more slowly than I thought. Nice prose tho

Samurai Jeansposted in Other Brands and Shops
Ladies and gentlemen
I just ordered a couple of Iron Hearts pants and cant wait to receive those.
I'm new to this and do not intend to offend anyone, but I have this nagging question. What is your opinion of Samurai jeans and how do they compare with Iron Heart jeans of the same weight?
Thank you -
RE: Cowboy bootsposted in Footwear
There is a new brand out of Austin called Chisos (after the mountain range in the Big Bend region in SW Texas near the border, magnificent, by the way).
https://chisos.com/collections/mens-boots
I got myself a pair of Black #1's and they are very comfortable
Superb craftmanship too

Momotaroposted in Other Brands and Shops
I also received the new MOMOTARO jeans model “S003-AZ” and I hate it. I totally misjudged it. And did not realize it has a fucking zipper. It raises too high for me, the color is not what I thought it was going to be. I tried giving it to my son and no luck, so when my wife comes home tonight, she's going to get a present… If the thing dont fit her, I'll put it on sale, I guess.
The only thing positive is the super fabric, thick and soft and "nice"...

I now llive in Texas where the weather is super hot 8 months of the year and warm the rest of the time. Should I get this one or the 21oz model in order not to suffocate when I'm at a red light or a slow moving situation under the sun?

OK you Iron Hearters, this Saturday's All Blacks - Lions is a HUGE game
Lions have a shot at winning the series
I've watched all the games of this tour, skipping work when necessary
I'm a big AB fan and usually feel pretty confident, but this time, I'm kinda biting my nails already. -
RE: Tattoosposted in General Chat
I was in New Zealand with Sly & Robbie and Bitty McLean for the Raggamuffin Festival and took a couple days off to visit the area around Auckland. I also had my left calf tattooed. 5 hours, was 9:30 when we finished and the drive back to Auckland was 3 hours or so. I was so tired that the guy invited me to crash at his pad and leave in the morning. That was soooo cool. Great experience.

Now that you live in San Antonio, Mike, you really should make a trip to Little's Boot Company. They have a really impressive showroom filled with custom pairs they've done over the years. It's kinda overwhelming, actually.
and they are GREAT people

RE: Cowboy bootsposted in Footwear
I have several pairs made by Dave Little in San Antonio
http://www.littlesboots.com/our-boots
1 magnificent pair made by Lee Miller from Texas Tradition in Austin. so beautiful I am leery of wearing them!
they dont have a website but if you google them, you will see what they make.
I also have a couple pairs from Heritage in Austin
http://heritageboot.com/style/heritage-men/
Heritage makes ready to wear while Lee and Dave make bespoke boots. Lee takes more than a year to deliver, while Dave takes about 3-4 months.
Believe me, the wait is well worth it. So if you happen to be in San Antonio or Austin, do take the time to visit their stores and prepared to be totally amazed and forget about Lucchese.
