I agree.  And if that's the way Kyle is comfortable doing it, then I say go with it.  What's another week or two when the wait time is already 3-4 months?  And with boots that should last for years, proper fit is way more important than instant gratification (which you're not really getting anyway).

EDIT: my only point was that it's possible to do a proper fitting with scanned tracings and measurements, not that it's the only way or even the best way.  Every company/bootmaker does things their own way, based on what works for them.  Arguing with them is generally stupid, a waste of time, and only results in bad vibes all around.

Can't tell you the difference in weight, but my double sole required effectively no breaking in…..Could walk miles in them from the get go....

There definitely is a weight difference that you can feel, but as Giles said and as I have said on many occasions in this thread, if you size your Whites correctly they will be comfortable right out of the box.

And actually, I reckon mine are 1/2 size too large, but no probs…..

                  Hi guys,

Thanks for the advice. I spoke with Kyle by phone and as per his advice I will mail the actual scan. Just  talking to him I told him I take size 9D in Red Wing Moc Toe and 9E in Alden Indy due to the narrow toe box. He said he was the same size in all three of those shoes. Has your experience on the SD last been the same. Same across in the size and width.

                  Thanks,
                  Jay

Took delivery of these from Baker's Shoes a couple of weeks ago.  I'm very pleased with how they turned out; Kyle's customer service, the fit, and the overall look.

How should this fit? Real snug and tight or do i need some space especially when having celastic toes?

The pair i have here has a single sole. Let me tell you they are much heavier than Viberg Service Boots!!!

@Mid7 Thanks.  I ordered them the last week of November and took delivery of them January 22nd.  The wait was worth it!
