Used to have a pet hamster. He lived in the house, more specifically under the open fireplace (which we then couldn't use anymore)… He came out every evening to eat... I preferred that over keeping it in a cage... He still lovingly bit my fingers when I petted him... That li'l shite...

The Squirrel Trap saga has come to an unceremonious end. I returned from work today to find my wife and mother-in-law cleaning up the living room, somber-faced as if they were bar maids cleaning up after a Hell's Angels brawl. As I feared, the squirrel exited the trap casually without it actually engaging then freaked right the fuck out and proceeded to wreak havoc among the living room bric-a-brac. My mother-in-law carried the babies off to the basement while my father-in-law and wife entered a stand off. The wife opened a window and the squirrel mounted the window sill, paused to look over its shoulder at the domestic bliss that could have been then jumped out into the wilderness of the back yard. If I ever see that squirrel again I will run over him with my car.
