      @RocknRoll:

      One word which I hate and wish would disappear from the lingo forever, is JAWNS (or JAWNZ).

      Dunno what it is about that word, but it just grates on me. Perhaps I'm just an intolerant pillock!  😃

      Seconded

        Thanks Urbs. I suspect we will find some stiff opposition from the "jawnz brigade", but we'll fight the good fight, eh!

            While ever there is a single human being walking the earth that still uses LOL, I will continue using JAWNS  😠

            Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

                    I saw it too - thought you said it deliberately as a joke after reading this thread!

                        Not all at - it's just something that bothers me from time to time. Perhaps the word 'hate' was a bit strong on my part.

                          Check out this article on the development of streetwear forums for the origin of Jawns:

                          Much of the forum slang and vernacular spilled over into the world of blogging and tumblr. Fischer says wEstsIdE helped popularize terms such as “cop,” meaning impulsively buying, and “jawns,” which usually referred to clothing.

                          “My very basic understanding of the word ‘jawn’ is that it’s from Philly. It just means thing, any random thing,” says Lo.

                            That remark about Philly is funny because previous to hearing it used in regards to denim, I had heard it all the time in 6-7th grade (about 15 years ago).  It was really popular then, but mostly faded away after that.  I never really liked the word personally.

                            Out with the new! In with the old!
