Anti-Rant:
Background: At the Delta check-in at Madrid airport for the start of a marathon day of travel from Madrid to JFK to Seattle with two kids. I got the tickets for the kids with miles (which puts you at the bottom of the shit totem pole when there are problems).
Guy: "I'm sorry sir, but we have an overbooking situation on this flight."
Me: "That sucks. But I have Gold status and I don't think you can bump us."
Guy: "I understand that. The only solution we have is to put you, your wife and the two kids into business class. Unfortunately, we do not have 4 seats together, will that be OK?"
Me: "Are you shitting me?"

Lemme get this straight- he's telling you he's gonna put you in Business Class for an international flight and you don't have to sit with your kids? You're living my dream, dude…:)

In "honour" of the Olympics (to try to grab as much money as possible from poor deluded fools). The Knutsford branch of the Galactic Empire has changed it's Sunday opening times until the 22nd of September… So in roughly 9 hours I start the much derided "Olympic Shift" - 9:00-5:30.
Prospective customers don't seem to know about this wonderful new retail opportunity and so, after 4:00pm there is nothing to do. Attempts have been made by the rank and file to point out the futility of a Northen England supermarket trying to capitalise on an event that is happening in the South of England. Nothing doing... Hey Ho ;).
(Thought this was a more appropriate thread than the London Olympic thread).

in continuing with this:
think I have just talked F_dEx to pay me €300 + tax in compensation for a delayed sending, can not believe how easy that was, victims….
after they had called me on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
last week to say sorry about this. Got today a call where they asked if I would be at home today, so that they can deliver the sending (that I have in my hands since 7 days ???) Told them that I already got it. Only to get another call somewhat later that the sending would be here in the next hour….. Shortly after I had a guy on the door that said something like" Hello Sir, I should deliver you a package today, that you are seem to be waiting for, but unfortunatly I can not find it in my truck" 
seriously......

Wow, that's fantastic. You should have pitched a fit and demanded that they locate your package immediately.:)
And I think the question about drug use was well deserved…

Finding some nice (potentially cheap) used denim for sale, only to realise later they have been hemmed 1 inch shorter than my absolute minumum length

Manitou, the bike, paralyzed on the way home last weekends rally, second time tis summer, never been acting up before…while trying to figure out what's wrong with it I noticed I had burnt huge hole in my 634S cuff in the exhaust, and kicked a 2 euro size whole in the leather of my steelcapped Chippewas while trying to start the fekkin' ride...
Doh, sleeped 2 hours on the roadside while waiting pick-up, just to get back home to seriously super pissed off wife who nagged and ranted all evening...still doin' that. Life is SO great sometimes...
