Someone just sent me an email and asked what would my best price be of a pair of IH-9634Z to a first time buyer. My reply was USD350 (i.e. list). He just came back and said "I was thinking more like USD300". I told him to think what he liked…..
Hahahahaha, I had no idea you had a stand at the Rose Bowl G?

Awesome! I didn't know prices were negotiable; that's great news! You'll be receiving an email soon with my revised offers for various items. I look forward to at least a 10% break, since I'm a repeat

I've always been a proponent that you give discounts to loyal customers, not new ones. Sadly, most companies do just the opposite these days.

Agreed. Text from last email I sent him…
- Someone who negotiates as a first time buyer is usually only a one time buyer
- If they do return a precedent has been set
- First time buyers are the most costly in terms of returns etc
- Why would we favour a completely new customer over our 1'000's of repeat customers?

"The cover of this magazine I want is ripped, could you knock £1.00 off the price?"
No, but I'll wait patiently while you fetch another… etc etc.

I also once had a customer follow up on his question on how much a box of cereals costed with "Why does it cost that much?"…
I thought of giving him a line of Socrates, maybe Aristoteles, but instead just turned around...
Why does cereal cost so much? Pretty soon, stores will have to put the Cap'n Crunch in those locked cabinets like they do razor blades and cigarettes.

Elitist snob.

Damn, to paraphrase Father Ted "There 're two 5 o'clocks in the day?".
How I hate summer, always seem to wake at the crack of dawn.

Doesn't sound as though they want a 10% discount… Sounds more like they want to pay 25% of retail. :(.
