If I get these tight fitting at the start, will I be able to stretch the waist 1.5 inches, or am I dreaming?

I think expecting an inch and a half will be a stretch (sic).  But am going to re look at sizing today, I have a feeling the actual waist size i ls larger than the chart suggets,  And Paula will be back to you later today to answer your question of the week end.

Mine were about a quarter to a half inch larger in the waist, and from wearing them to work in they've stretched about an inch and a half from the original 34 size. No soaks yet, so I don't know how much they will shrink back up.

Looks like it´s a no-go for me. Size 34 thigh measures 31,1 cm now. And size 36´s waist is too big. Damn. I was almost in love with these jeans.

Nope… these were supposed to be my first pair.

I found the fit of these to be very similar to the Buster and nothing like my 666od.  The rise is even a bit higher.  The waist on my XHS was definitely a full inch bigger than the 34 tag size and are now about 35.5 - 36 after 6 mos of wear and one wash.

If this is your first pair, consider this… starting with the 25 oz denim at the beginning of the summer limits your ability to wear consistently for the next few months.  Starting with a 21 oz Buster on the other hand allows you more wear time, and a frame of reference when you branch out to the newer fabrics like the 18 oz, 25 oz, whatever may come along in the future... which eventually you will.
