^well it's actually not much and pretty simple!
buy a fresh piece of salmon, remove the skin on one side, add a little salt and pepper to both sides and then roast it till both sides are nice, crispy and golden looking, turn down the heat to let the inside infuse a bit and done!
the fries were made in the oven!

Paula is out tonight.  She is with a couple of girlfriends discussing what they should wear (as Bride and Matrons of Honour) to an upcoming wedding.  I was invited, but decided that chewing off my fingers very slowly with the application of neat alcohol between bites was infinitely more enjoyable.

So I am on my own.  Dinner is fish, chips and these….

Is that really just a can of pureed peas?  I've never seen that before; is it common in the UK?

Not pureed, they are large marrowfat peas that are just, well mushy…..

So what's the final product look like?  I love peas in all forms, so I'm completely intrigued by this.

Cabbage and pomegranate salad, doesn't look like much but tastes lovely. The dressing has sesame oil and lemon juice in it.

Fettucine with chicken, spinach, courgette, garlic, cream and an obscene amount of pecorino cheese.

                    AIAN HA-TO!

I was just thinking the same thing.

And Giles- I'll take you up on that visit/cooking lesson, eventually (if it's open to me, too).  Just have to wait for the kids to get a little older; we're not ready to subject a planeful of people to loud & unhappy children for 8+ hours.

They're in the midst of nasty head colds- which they have, of course, passed on to Julie and me- so they're especially cranky right now.  Shutting them up in a cellar is a wonderful fantasy.
