attempting to go off line for Lent. i was supposed to start last Wednesday but you know i'm always slow to move on things i don't really want to do. if sbg world tours decide to show up i'll just have to hold off on my obligations & post updates & all that type of stuff.
see you all after Easter
have a great time and enjoy it with your family mickey…but please come back after lent and don´t do it the beatle-way
all the best! -
that's if i can stay away that long, notice i am still signed in & replying & startin' sh!t with members. it says alot about my life when the thing i am trying to give up for lent is a forum. not drinking, or being an a$$hole, or stealing my kids bacon when they aren't looking, but the forum
i say aim high so you got a longer way to fall

BBC on denim:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17101768
"Please find enclosed one pair of your overalls which I am sending you that the head of your fabric department may determine what is wrong. I purchased these from the Brayton Commercial Co of Wickenburg, Arizona, in the early part of 1917 and I have worn them every day except Sunday since that time and for some reason which I wish you would explain they have gone to pieces. I have worn nothing but Levi Strauss overalls for the past 30 years and this pair has not given me the service that I have got from some of your overalls in the past. I know that it is your aim to present a superior article on the market and consider it my duty to help you in any way I can. Please consider this and let me know if the fault is mine."

Lucifer, you beat me to it! I thought that was a solid read and am intrigued by a UCL anthropologist's take on denim. Might check out the book. Good contributions from PaulT of SuFu fame as well.

Gotta love the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo…
Pics?..
[/quote]Don't worry, Seul- when I go, I'll take some piglet pics for you.
The Rodeo is a huge event in Houston; last year over 2 million tickets were sold for the monthlong show. Since its inception in 1932, it's raised over 280 million dollars for scholarships, research, endowments and other youth educational programs. Over 20,000 people volunteer to work at it each year. It's a carnival, chili cookoff, concert series, livestock competition, wine tasting & auction, traditional rodeo and giant mall, all rolled into one massive package. We go every year to turn Benjamin loose in the petting zoo, see a couple of concerts and eat funnel cake, fried cheesecake, sausage on a stick and other ridiculous foods.
Even the New York Times took note of some of the craziness.
