The loop wheel process is extremely time consuming and does produce a beautiful fleece with the benefit of tube construction.  The plus side being you need no side seams, the down side being that the loopwheel max out at certain tube size.  That is why you do not see true loopwheeled seamless construction in large sizes.

So the stuff costs a lot to make.  Would I pay USD200+ for one, yes.  Would I pay USD1,000 for a golf driver no.  Would I pay USD10,000 on a bespoke pair of boots, yes (if I had the money).  Would I pay USD7,000 on a cruise, no.

How we spend our money is as individual as we are, and there is no right or wrong.

New company I just read about. Planning on ordering something soon.

Cheap American made sweatshirts and more coming soon.

          I like these

          I like their approach…

          http://www.freemanbrand.com/conversations/a-conversation-with-bayard-american-giant.html

We wanted that old-school cotton and started to obsess over the hand of the cotton and the dryness of the garment. Asking, “How do you get that hand?” or “how do you get that interior so it’s soft when you wear it?” The looms from the 60’s and 70’s that created these superior pieces where these pieces came from were all bought out by Japanese companies, so we had to do all of this from scratch.

I read this type of comment every know and then, but have seen little evidence so far other than show pieces in museums.
Japanese machinery from the 40's onward was initially copied but almost exclusively Japan made. What we see in Japan since the 80's and 90's is well preserved Japanese machinery when it comes to knitting machines and shuttle looms.
Now old sewing and spinning machines that might be slightly different…

I can get a sweet deal on both in my size. Leaning towards the Wings + Horns.

              What do you guys think?

Haha, nice. Well my only concern is that the W+H comes in XL and the Workaday only goes up to L. Do you think the L will fit me? Have you ever tried one on? I've only seen one in person and it was a small.  😞

Large would fit me a tad roomy so I assumi it would fit you. Thing is, it wil eventually shrink and then it won't fit. I would just go with the W&H then.

Sleeve length is good, too, which is important to me.  I hate sleeves that can't make it past my wrists.  I also like loose fitting hoodies, so I generally buy the largest size possible.  I'd say get your usual size if you want a cleaner fit, size up to get a loose on

Well, I just got my first really nice sweatshirt (IHSW-10)… so now that I know how wonderful sweatshirts can be I’m wondering what else is out there…

Basically what I am looking for is very thick fluffy sweatshirts that would be about as soft or softer than my IHSW-10.

                                  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Strike Gold makes a killer fleece. It's a bit different than IH, a bit more rigid but extremely heavy and soft.

                                    Think it, be it.

I’ve been looking at these brands and I defiantly see these sweatshirts in my future…

I have also recently found a sweatshirt that looks pretty nice it’s called Joe McCoy (related to real mccoy?). There is new sweat in my size at a pretty good savings ($165) I’m looking at… The seller who is also selling a couple of strike gold sweats says: “I owned and have owned every brand of loop wheeled sweatshirts, buzz rickson, strike gold, dubbleworks, deluxe ware, cushman, whitesville, two moons, samurai, full count, Phigvel, beams Plus, etc…etc.. None of the above compare in terms of weight, feel, construction, of the Joe Mccoy Ballpark sweatshirt.”

Not sure how good this one really is so I just thought I’d ask you good folks. Ever heard of Joe McCoy 12oz Ballpark sweatshirt?

Joe mccoy ballpark belongs to the real mccoy's. Look over in the real mccoys thread. Very nice heavyweight fabric, deadstock talon zipper on the hoodie etc. quality and attention to details are outstanding.

Some fit pics here from maxpower and myself

Flash also wears his ballpark hoodie in the waywt thread in other brands

The Ballpark heavyweight crewneck Sweatshirt itself is great too look over in the RMC thread you'll see some pics there too.
