he spends lots of time washing off dandruff apparently.

I think it a little unfortunate when a brand respected for doing something very well, tries to do something else
WTF. I'm a huge classic Barbour fan and I even like the Tokito line minus the added cost, but WTF is that. I'll stick with my Beaufort, thanks.
So when is IH gonna start making waxed cotton blazers?

Currently requesting quotes from the cream of UK cobblers, and boot restorers to do something with my Whites SD's. I have sent an email to the 10 most highly recommended cobblers in the UK, with pics of my boots, and pics of what I want doing to them, interested to see what they come back with.
Failing that, I'll just ship them to Whites, have my arm ripped off by the postage costs and customs, but enjoy a great quality, relatively cheap resole

Depending on what you want done, around $50.

I certainly will, I've asked for a double leather midsole, with a vibram composition half sole too. I don't think it should be a huge task to bond the extra leather to the existing leather, then stitch the half sole onto that, not for a good quality cobbler at least.
I've sent pictures of my boots as they currently are, along with pictures of what I would want doing. I'll let you know what feedback I get, and from who.

This is a paradox (not sure if this is the right word) that always border me: In North America, we need to look for a competent cobbler for British made shoes. The British made some of the best shoes in the world, but I will never bring them to any street corner cobblers in NA just to get them fixed / resole.

If your not lucky (which I somehow doubt). I had this bookmarked. Some guy in Germany, the job he did on the Thorogoods looks good enough.

Cheers Holla, that does indeed look like a decent job done

Probably going to have to give it a couple of days, one of the guys over on SUFU (who is pretty knowledgable in shoe/ boot matters), thinks that White's stitch down construction method will most likely be alien to UK cobblers

Taylormadeshoes, of Marleybone London are first to respond. They say that they can do the work, it would cost £115, and take 2 weeks. I have asked for them to be clear about what exactly is included for the price.

Double leather midsole, with a Vibram composition half sole. I didn't think that price was too bad
