will hemming the 40.5 pair change the opening of the hem or will it still be 9.5 after when you are done hemming.Here's the math…...
Knee to hem is about 20" The taper from knee to cuff is 1/2 inch
Work out how much you are going to chop off (let's call that m)
New opening = 9.5 + (m/20*0.5)

Tinman, no agitation, I just soaked them flat in the bathtub. I posted post soak measurements
in the RAW WAR thread, they did shrink but not drastically. -

Seriously, I can't get the buttons into the button holes!
honestly…i never ever ever ever ever in life had so much problems to button up a pair of jeans!
that´s the insane madness right here!hopefully i can button´em up once they are dry again...ooaaaah feck

I definitely had a similar experience with my sr's, it didn't last more than a couple days. I am guessing the same will be true with these. Good luck.

I find that never to be the case. Quite the opposite, actually. Ha.

Just a word of caution when using tools to help button for the first time:
I used a screwdriver to help loosen the buttonhole on a pair several months ago, but later found that I had nicked the thread on the buttonhole stitch which eventually began to unravel. I had to hand-sew a new buttonhole.
