IHM-01 - Deck Jacket
-
Sorry, no pics until tonight ;), although I have taken 2 phone pics to send to Mini.
First impressions.
- It's warm, and I mean seriously warm.
- It's much lighter than the BR or MF versions.
- The construction is absolutely spot on, tough does not go far enough.
- It is much more fitted, and less boxy than the BR.
- It feels like it will be my winter coat for years to come.
- The collar does negate the need for a scarf.
- It's my favourite IH item after 20 minutes of wear.

so all in all you would say that this thing is built like a fecking beast, right?
nonetheless i like your listed points
-
Definitely built like a beast, but a very warm and comfortable beast (if that makes sense), it's a pleasure to wear.
G, I always knew I'd hate it
-
Sorry Rafa, but crap flics are better than no flics. I'll post the good stuff later
-
Prettier pics….
More to come when my photographer (Mini) gets home.

Mega, jacket looks awesome on you man! I did a little back search but did not find what size you went with. If you wouldn't mind could you put that info up, as well as your normal IH shirt size. One more question, have you tried it on with say one of the heavyweight flannels or a nice thick sweater underneath? Thanks in advance for your response.
-
Hey Z, I went with XXL, which is my regular shirt size. I've tried it with a 33, and with the forum hoody, it was difficult to move my arms but the fit was fine
-
Great news, thanks again Mega
-
Damn, I NEED one of these!
Mega, jacket looks great on you. How are the forearms on these? Tight, loose?
Thanks Pete, the forearms are reasonably fitted, but not so bad that you can't layer under it if required, just about perfect for me.
The one problem I do have with it, is that it is so warm that I would hate to know how cold the weather would have to get to put a hoody or flannel under it :-\

I don't want to be the pain in the ass here. I really like the jacket on you, mega, but I think (just by looking at the shoulders and the sleeve length) that you could have sized down one. Of course i can't judge how you feel in it and I also like my jackets rather loose than to tight, but still I think so. Don't hate me
-
I would say this will tackle a heavy European winter as well as just about anything (without being silly and buying a Canada Goose or similar), especially after a simple waterproof treatment. I wouldn't size down personally because I like the fit, and I still have some room to layer if required, plus (just like Monday) I don't dig the smedium fit of any item of clothing, I'm too old for that
Seriously, if you're on the fence, don't be. This is an epic coat, and destined to be a future classic from Iron Heart.
