The strike gold 14oz denim seems to look similar to the 005 denim, and they've got a decent selection of cuts too. You could take a look at those if you don't like the pbj cuts

Only went with PBJ for the denim. And for that reason I'm not thàt bothered by them having stretched, cause I wanna see them bleed and fade… For the perfect cut jeans I have my 634S and 9634Z...

Waistwise my tagged 32s now measure close or even slightly over 34"... So they're loose on me... Thighs and knee area have stretched quite a lot as well... I know they're lighter weight jeans but my ALD Prescott darktones never stretched more than half an inch anywhere... Aaahhh well... C'est la vie... Just wondering whether the 24 oz. models also suffer from this?..

what size do you wear in the 634s? curious because ive been looking at pbj, specifically the 007 and 009 cuts, and was thinking maybe size up one based off of the big measurements. im not looking for a fit any slimmer than the 634s tts

31 in 634S- sized down 1 that is.. I'd go for the same size as your 634S'es than for the 009 if I were you…

Looking at getting my first pair of raw-denim and interested in some PBJ's.

In another thread everyone pointed me to the IH634s since I was going for a straight legged modern fit.
I like the slubbyness and look of the PBJ's from what I've seen, so I was curious about the comparible fit to the IH634, and if there are any gotchas with the PBJ's?

              Thanks guys!

I would suggest the PBJ XX-009. They stretch though, and quite a lot, but you end up with a nice straight leg. They are supposedly tapered but I have yet to notice that - although I did have them hemmed to a 33" inseam which could the reason for that… Other PBJ models have either very low rises, or are slim/ skinny fits...

I bought the one-wash model here:

I went true to size by the way. Could've easily gone one size down. Random fit pics:

They're new, hence the flat colour… Trust me: they will fade like crazy...

The XX-009 have a indigo warp and weft thread, so there's no contrast like regular denim. I believe the XX-003 is the same fit but with "normal" denim.

But Seul's right, the 009 will fade, just differently.

They look like overdyed jeans only they're not and fade much nicer… Again: these have barely been worn, let alone worn hard... I've been sleeping in them, that's about it... I only wear 14 ounce jeans when it's warm(er)...

Very uneven structure. Hard to tell, probably.

On my list of must haves- ever growing

My jeans seem to go into holes on the left knee well before I can achieve fades like that (since age 11!)

Is it because the denim is too lightweight?

I think I'm going back to sleeping in jeans as well - for some reason I sleep better than in pjs!
Later will soak in a bath and "get dressed!" again and see if I can sleep tonight as I'm shattered from being up all last night.
Anyway, if they wear out it just gives me an excuse to look for more… Although 2011 search not quite over.

Been reading some other brands/fits... It's really helpful as I've ordered so many this year that don't fit.
From now on I'll check ALL measurements before ordering.
Also comments about how the denim "behaves" is really helpful as well.
Thnx guys for all of your threads that I've read- its really helpful.

Those 634S Vs XX009 pics are amazing. A beautiful comparison of two very awesome, yet completely different, denims.

I'm in the early stages of a pair of 007, and can understand why people say that PBJ denim is some of the wildest out there. Loving it - just hoping I don't get the excessive stretch issue that was mentioned earlier.
