OK, thanks.  I'll probably be buying a pair of these in the next week then.  I'm fairly positive on sizing,  and just want to see if my thinking is right.  I wear a size 32 Devil's fit od,  I'm thinking that a size 30 in these would be just right.

Either that or a 31.  The 30 will be pretty tight to start with.  Anyone out there got direct experience of both cuts?

I've got a 33 in the OD and a 30 in the VMC/XHS. The OD I use a belt with now due to some stretching and the VMC/XHS fit fine without.

            Hope this helps.

the waist of the 32 has gotten pretty loose, they hang pretty low even with a belt (pictures in the 666od thread)

I went up one from the S (31) on the OD (32) and got 31 in the XHS.  Both were tighter than the XHS, but the XHS might have more give to them than originally thought.  Tag for tag I think the XHS fits more like an SBG BB with a lower rise than the 666.

I'm mainly looking at waist measurements, there's a whole one inch difference across the size board from the ih site to selfedge's which has a 30 measuring at a 31" initially

Just my opinion collected from months of independently comparing sizing measurements of the things I want:

Do not trust Self Edge's measurements!

For one thing, look how they measure the shoulders on shirts: over the collar on the front side!  That's why all their numbers for shirts are just flat wrong.  And apparently they don't care, since they haven't changed.

It is likely that the same sloppiness applies for their measurements of the jeans.  They are probably not lining up the front and back waistband so they are parallel.

I bought a pair of jeans and asked to have them hemmed.  They sent them to me untouched.  I sent them back and asked for 34.25".  They sent them back to me with one leg 34.5 and the other 34.6.

That's why I just go with Giles.  Edit: And jacoavlu.  😉

I didn't measure my 31's when I got them, but they now measure 16 across.  Personally I wouldn't risk going down two from the OD on a $480 pair of jeans.  I tried going down one from my regular 31 to 30 on the TWR01 but those suckers did't stretch.  There are days I just can't wear them.  The ODs are tight and stretchy, but there's no guarantee the XHS will behave similarly.

Does anyone have a game plan for washing these?  I'd like to test their limits and don't really foresee the need due to the cold weather, but I don't want any problems w/ my stitching.  I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on how/when some of you are going to go about it.

sorry no plans or ideas at the moment on washes & such. it really depends on the way the jeans behave & how dirty they get.  since these are sanforized i'm pretty optimistic about all the threads being bedded & all those technical terms people in the know use (i'm not in the know so i won't use them).

i do think i'll start wearing mine for Halloween. i started my 666 on Friday the 13th so it's fitting, but it depends on how this evening & the morning goes . . .

sorry to get off track. back to your question, i will wash when they are really dirty or stink . . . or both  😠

I would say inside out, delicate (i'm a wimp) machine wash warm or cold, low or no spin, air dry. i'll soak before wash just to get the fabric to soften up a bit & to get some of the funk out

sorry had to come back as i still only half answered your question the 1st time  😠
