IHSH-408-BLK - 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel Check Work Shirt - Black

Substantial, warm and windproof - our 12oz slubby heavy flannel (SHF) shirts share all the same characteristics that our signature ultra heavy flannels are renowned for. However, as the fabric is woven using slub yarn cotton, this pronounces the texture and creates a much more uneven hand when compared to our traditional flannels. While the face of the fabric is packed full of character and rugged charm, we still double brush the reverse to ensure a very soft, cosy flannel shirt. Seen here in our work cut with a black/navy herringbone check.

Dark flannels FTW

Last year was a good year for dark shirts for my collection and I picked up both the 374 and the 342-OD (just gave myself another pat on the back for my excellent choices on those, they rip!). This one is also a banger but I couldn't possibly justify another dark work shirt...could I?

Here's the actual point of this post: The 374 has different buttons the the 342 and the 314 and I see that these buttons are now on the work shirts for this FW. I really like the buttons, just curious about the change and if this is here to stay also for lighter weight fabrics? The new buttons generally are more likely to stay buttoned which I suppose is their whole point, I assume this is the reason for the change?

@BalticBob Yes, the new four hole buttons are a change across the board, for the very issue you mention. In addition, the button holes are slightly smaller, to alleviate the issue. The 5oz short sleeve shirts from Spring/Summer 2025 have them on

This UHF is the pick of the season in my opinion. I'm still paying for Gosport so won't be on my list but otherwise for sure would. I love dark flannels.
