This is my first time posting so fit pics so don’t judge too hard. I had to set the timer up and use my front camera from a low angle…I guess this is the angle my children see 😄

The new flyers club Jacket is a M, fits really well and I took a picture of the lining which now has some insulation.

    • RE: Introduce Yourself Here

Hello, I thought about doing this for a while but never did. I am Tim and I'm South African but I have been living in Hamburg with my family for nearly 8 years. We moved here for work, not the weather, but the weather does give me a chance to wear some great stuff including many items from Iron Heart. I've been a fan of Iron Heart for a few years and I've slowly been building up a nice collection but I haven't really posted on the forum much, I've been lurking in the shadows until @goosehd convinced me to start posting. Please direct you complaints directly to @goosehd 🙂

Thanks for having me and please try not to make anything really cool for a while.

@Brandrea @Mizmazzle They were great, I emailed them and they spoke to their production and came back to me today with a shipping label and asked me to send it back to them to repair.

Hats off to Dehen, they did good. Their stuff is great and I'm happy to see they also fix defects without a question.

      Blanket Lined Duck Canvas Jacket

      Hello!

I have been a fan of the forum and IH for years and I have many great items which I am absolutely loving. I have waited in the shadows for a particular jacket for a few years but I have never seen it. I now feel compelled to ask about this jacket and I am really curious to know why IH doesn't do something like this.

The jacket I so love is a blanket lined duck canvas jacket (brown, black or blue). I had the original Carhartt Detroit but the fit is not on point for me. I currently own the Carhartt WIP version which is, in my opinion, a really nice interpretation of the original jacket. However, it's modernized for the masses and is somewhat 'streetware' which means it has some short comings.

I searched the forum but I could not find a topic like this so here it is:
Would IH ever make, or has IH ever made, a blanket lined duck canvas jacket with a corduroy collar. I do own the whipcord jacket which has the cord collar and ventile lining which absolutely rips (IHJ-61), but it's not warm enough for Hamburg.

Since you asked for my opinion, I would say that jacket (IHJ-61) without the button at the hem, and perhaps with a single slit breast pocket, made from the 17oz duck canvas and lined with the blanket lining from the 101J in both black and brown would mean I will likely never ever take it off ever again. I'll show myself out now.

      Thanks!

    • RE: IHSH-342-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Work Shirt - Navy Overdyed Black

This is the best flannel you have made. It's an overdyed version of the best colour way from the season (IMO), which I never bought because I'm too black metal to wear so many colours! It's so good and it looks different in different lights; my wife thinks I have two of these depending on how sunny it is.

I know this is a random post but this shirt needs some extra love; so happy these exist!

Maybe this has been suggested before, but what about a black version of the 101J-SR with the black 14oz sulfur dyed denim and a dark brown cord collar and a wool blend lining.

    • RE: IHSH-374-IND - 14oz Double Cloth Work Shirt - Indigo

I was just perusing the site, as one does, and noticed there are still all the sizes on this one. How!?

I saw this shirt at Burg and Schild in Berlin, and although I managed to get myself out of the store without it I didn't make the train ride home before placing the order. This is hands down tied for the best shirt I bought last year. What did it tie with you are thinking? It's the 342-OD; I wanted a overdyed flannel for a long time and literally rushed to the Hamburg store when you released those.

My advice: buy this shirt and give yourself a pat on the back for the excellent choice you made

    • RE: IHJ-124-BLK - 10oz Herringbone Work Jacket - Black

Looking at this seasons work jackets got me excited about wearing this again in the summer. I wore it a lot last summer, it's the perfect over a T-shirt and I had to give it a wash at the end of summer which actually showed a lot of the wear on this one. I was expecting the herringbone fabric to not show the wear much but your can definitely see it was worn. It's not that it has indigo like fades, but it certainly doesn't look new anymore.

    • RE: Luggage Bags and Packs

@prpx I can highly recommend Bleu de Chauffe. I sold all the bags I had once I got the first one from them and saw the quality.

Great sustainable brand too, all hand made by 1 artisan from start to finish in France. One of the bags I have from them is with the British Millerain material which I would say is exactly the 'rugged twill' from Filson. They call it 18oz lick wax serge canvas, it's this bag:

      Hello,

I am selling this lovely summer shirt. I think it’s a great shirt but nothern Europe is either so hot I don’t want to wear a shirt (1 week per year) or normal northern Europe temperature where a long sleeve shirt is most ideal.

Seems a shame that it hangs here when someone else could enjoy it.

Asking 180€ + sending from Germany but DM me and we can work something out.

      Pip to pip: 54cm
      Length: 72cm
      Sleeve: 24cm
      Shoulder: 43cm

Can’t see to attach more than one photo.

    • RE: Wonder Looper

Can anyone comment on the French terry pullover sweat? I have 2 of the heavy weight pullover sweats from WL both in M; one is from one of the earlier releases and it's shrunk a little on 30deg washes over the past 2 years and fits perfectly. I picked another up last year and it's shrunk a little since then, but not as much as the first one and I don't know if it's because I haven't washed it much yet or if it's just not going to shrink more.

I'm eyeing one of the French terry sweats now and I don't know if I should go S or M. The M's are a little over sized on me, but with the shrink accounted for the first one ended up fitting really well and the second one seems to be on it's way there but not quite yet 🙂 I don't want to get a S and then it shrinks a little over then next few years and becomes to small. Anyone had a French terry through multiple washes who can comment on shrinkage?

      Edit:
I measured (all measurements are in cm) and compared to the website for WL from the 2023 sweater and the 2024 sweater. I also have a joe McCoys ball park sweater (love the fit on this, the fabric is also much lighter than the WL). The chest on the WL in reality is larger than the website reports. The length is also shorter in general but the sleeve on the 2024 is on point; however, this has become shorter as I used to fold it over and now I don't need to but it's still pretty long.

      afc5e0da-0009-446b-afdd-425e8cf4def6-image.png

Summary: WL seems to get shorter in the sleeve and body while becoming wider over time. Great investment piece in that respect as I suspect our bodies tend to to the same 😃

The Joe McCoy fit is perfect, but I think I lucked out on this one because I have seen different measurements on this cut before when checking the used market. I picked mine up gently used on Vinted so I can't comment on how it was treated before I got it.

    • RE: Gravel Bikes

I have the stamp pedals on my MTB and they rule, big fan. Anything with metal pins generally has a bad relationship with my shin but it recent years it’s been my boots taking the brunt of the beating. I attribute this 100% to my improved bike skills, rather than the fact that I bought boots 😄

I’m leaning toward some plastic pedals for the winter / boot season. If Crankbrothers makes a plastic stamp, well, that might to the answer.

What about something like the IHJ-144, but with a flannel or blanket lining? Yes, I like blanket linings.

Not perfect for summer, but still, great for those really cold summer days if you live in the right latitude and basically a winter jacket if you're in a warmer country. Open to offers!

Okay, that's what I expected, thanks! I'll have to think about it more, because cotton flannels are so comfy, but this is a beautiful colourway!
