Excellent thread drift but, back to the movie. I thought it was OK. The trailer gave me the impression it was going to be to be more about the record store. At the end of the movie when he says… New York had the haircuts,and London had the trousers,but Belfast had a reason,I found myself yelling several choice obscenities at my TV screen.

found Marty Supreme very entertaining, just wasn’t ready for everyone in the film to be so unlikable

@flannel-slut - just watched Marty based on your recommendation. I would never have watched a movie about table tennis otherwise. It is a hell of a ride. Not a short film, but very pacy and likeable. 3.5 stars

@Bridger @flannel-slut I recommend looking up Marty Reisman who the film is inspired by. I found it to be an interesting rabbit hole to go down.

On a related note, my general demeanor of crankiness makes me want to dislike Timothee Chalomet and his puckish manner but I have to remind myself that he’s a young guy on top of the world and he should be enjoying every minute of it.

I missed this when it came out. Written by Sorkin, but based on a true story.

On Netflix I believe.

@Bridger I saw it when it came out,and I don't remember thinking all that highly of it,but for the life of me,couldn't tell you why. Let me know what you think. Maybe I need to rewatch it.

I watched a Korean movie called No Other Choice loved it and highly recommend it.

@1WayTrip been trying to get the Mrs to sit down to this one this past weekend but made the mistake of telling her it’s from the writer/director of Oldboy. It’s been a hard no since but definitely giving it a go when solo
