No hate on those who do but it’s not my thing to cuff. I prefer mine to be hemmed so that they don’t drag along the ground when bare foot.
I have destroyed many a good pair over the years by wearing them too long

I hardly ever cuff mine anymore. I somehow prefer to wear them without.

I do have a cuff on my bibs…but I still think I may end up hemming them at some point.

I hem them so there is zero stacking with a 1.25”/3mm cuff. Just a tiny bit of cuff to keep the the indigo warp off my shoes and minimize indigo transfer. Then when I want to dress it up a bit, I can uncuff and it still looks tailored.

How do you define and measure the right length @Giles?

I struggle with a consistent method of measuring. I like a quarter break in the leg if possible.

@Go-For-Chill this is pretty much where I’ve landed. Long enough for a single cuff if I feel like it, but not too long to wear without.

Just touching the floor at my heel with no shoes on. I make no adjustment for rise, just hem them all to 34

Hemmed, 100% of the time. Don't like the extra mass/bulk/material of a cuff. Feels annoying/clumsy to me and gets on my nerves.
I often like how a cuff looks on other people though.

When breaking in new jeans, does it matter when you start cuffing your jeans? Should you break in with the boots that you’ll be wearing?

@michael.rose0107 I think it is 100% user choice. However I generally do not cuff at all, just stack until first wash at at least 50 wears if I can hold out. Then I cuff after. But that’s just me

My logic for this is that as the inside of the hem rubs against my boots, it creates nice roping on the inside which later shows with the cuff. It also makes cool reverse stack fades on the weft that gives a less “pressed” look for the cuffs once the fades have begun. Here’s my 142od at 11 wears and my 21ib at like 170.. I just like it this way.
