Got all of the room in the world to play down here.

Porch is looking good with clean brick.

-
@truby wondering why your bricks take on the white coloring? Around here they are largely orange-ish, with some lesser parts blackened by over-cooking in the ovens during the manufacturing process.
Genuinely curious. -
@motojobobo looks like efflorescence to me. Some brick veneer manufacturer's even make faux efflorescence on some patterns to give an aged aesthetic. Kind of like pre-distressing denim.
-
@motojobobo hey man,
So I’m no contractor but I work for a few. And from my understand they are antique brick that have been reclaimed off and old building or home. Generally speaking with a building is old and dilapidated they tear it down and if the brick is pretty they can save it.
So you won’t believe this….. for nice brick like this they pay someone to take it off by hand one brick at a time!!!! My building or home they took this off of is probably painted brick.

New cork clad floors are in the great room, dining room, kitchen, master bed, and den after some unexpected work was performed. Finally moving back in to our house! -
@Anesthetist Looks great Cat looks happy as well.
-
@Anesthetist fucking gorgeous. The light, wow
-
@Anesthetist looks really nice man. I quite like that checker rug.
-
The dining room buffet finally showed up. Still lots to do, hanging art and finalizing the new dining table, chairs, and rug. Taking our time with it.

@northsouthdenimguy beautiful and I love the Maggiori (yes?)
-
@SKT Thank you! And Yes it is.
-
We’re also thinking about having our stone countertop installer fabricate a thin (2 cm) marble or quartzite top. Something a bit darker to complement the dark wall and help balance the light cabinetry.
-
A beauty of a cabinet @northsouthdenimguy !!
-
Thank you! My wife saw it at a well-known retailer, but sourced it directly from the maker—saved just a “few” bucks. More money for IH.

My wife can’t stand going to public fitness clubs so I took this lite 8’ or so wide by 16’ room in our basement and turned it into her workout room. Padded floor tiles and a little bit of equipment. I may use it here and there, but I like “dirty” gyms.
