RE: Motorcycles
A lot of work has taken up much of my life, lately. But, I did manage to get in a ride, or two, over the past few weeks. A little tour of Milwaukee's Lakefront, and the Harley museum, too...

I can honestly say that I do not have the vocabulary to describe the events and express my feelings of the last week. While Giles had coached me and shared his experiences of previous trips, you cannot fully grasp what to expect until you’re there to see them first hand. What I can say now, is that at points you are overcome with emotion, exuberance, and exhaustion.
On the first day, you question if you would do this again. On the last day, you question when you will do this again and count the days until you can.
I wanted so badly to join you guys on this trip. But, it was not meant to be. Thanks for these thoughts, though. I can live vicariously through you, for now...

@scooter Scott and I had a band in the mid 2010’s where we basically just ripped off The Faces. Someday we’ll get around to releasing the record we made haha
Bad ass ! Love that guy. I'm a Milwaukee native. I always appreciated the amount of time he spent playing here. I had the pleasure of seeing him play 3 times, back in the Joe D era. Once at Alpine Valley, once at Summerfest, and once at one of their NYE shows. Although, I don't remember much of the NYE show...
I'll look forward to hearing that album, someday...

@scooter that potentially undersells the pickup, since White was 31 when he joined the Pack and this kid is 26. The risk here is having now $100MM tied up in two players and giving up two first round picks for the privilege. Gotta win like now for this to work out.
It was a ballsy move, and if I were betting on it I'd bet against it, but I respect the hustle.
Valid points. But, in my defense, I was simply trying to make more of a surface level observation. In the early '90s, after acquiring Favre, there just seemed to be that missing piece on defense, and getting Reggie to sign made all the difference. While, he may have been a bit older, he was still a game changer. He definitely had a knack for coming up with a big sack when the team needed it most...
I've got to agree, though. It's a very very ballsy move. More so the money, than the draft picks. I don't think I'll be able to get beyond my cautious optimism for awhile. It's looking good so far, though.

@scooter that black labeled Origin bottle from Bardstown was real tasty. I'd do it again. It's the only one i've tried from them though. Are any others a better buy?
It depends on your personal preference. The Origin black label is a wheated Bourbon. I'm a rye Bourbon kind of guy, so the white label is my preferred dram. It was very close to making my "always on hand list". But, it's a $42 bottle in my neck, and it just couldn't knock Four Roses single barrel off my list, which I can get for $45...

RE: Hard Drinkers, Lets Drink Hard (Spirits, Liquors and Cocktails)
@ARNC , I haven't had the Goose Island collab. I'm not big on finished Bourbons. Now, a Goose Island stout, aged in Bourbon barrels would be a different story. I have had the rye. It's very good. But, for a significantly lower price, you could get this... https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/84434/green-river-rye , and be just as satisfied.

I probably should add, I generally stick to their Discovery Series offerings, myself. They're a bit more pricey. But, I haven't been disappointed by one, yet.
I spoke of their transparency. Here's the breakdown of the blend for the one I posted earlier...
The Origin Series is 100% their own distillate. But, the Discovery Series uses stocks they purchased from legacy distilleries, while waiting for their own stocks to mature. The mash bills can clue you in to their source. The 8 year is the only Bardstown distillate in this blend.
