Although the jacket looks blue in this pic, it’s most definitely black. Looking forward to the temps dropping in a few months so I can really put some mileage on it. Cheers!!

My IH526-SBG arrived today, and I must say that I'm pleasently surprised. I expected the jacket to be really short, but in actuality, it's not that much shorter than my other Iron Heart jacket, the IH-526J-142OD. What blows my mind about the SBG out of the box is how burly yet soft it is. I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Iron Heart has some magical alchemy with their fabrics that allows them to get their jackets totally dialed in. The fabric on the SBG is incredibly substantial but also very pliable which gives it an almost custom fitted bombproof feel. As others have noted, the sleeves are a bit large, but I think once the creases set it, the volume won't be as noticeable. I may try the spray bottle treatment as someone else posted in this thread to see how that goes, but as it stands now they're not that bad. Honestly, I'm really chuffed with this jacket, and look forward to seeing what kind of fades I can get in it. Going to wear it tomorrow while shoveling snow (we got close to 6 inches today and it's still coming down). As usual, thanks to everyone in this forum for your great feedback.

Wore my jacket today while running errands today, and had someone stop me at Costco and ask about it. Dude was in total wonderment as to how soft the jacket is, yet he too commented about how heavy it is. I guess when you're used to store brand denim jackets, or even some newer Levis, Iron Heart at 14oz's is still a heavyweight for the uninitiated.

Sidenote, @beef_bonanza your jacket looks killer; I can't believe how blue it is, and the fades are incredible!! Mine is still holding onto it's original solid black color, so I've definitely got much work yet to do with it. Every time I wear it however, I still marvel at just how soft the fabric is; it's literally from a galaxy far, far away!!

I had no business getting another jacket, but there was one left in my size and FOMO got the best of me. Boom: order placed. Hoping it looks as good in person as it does in the pics I’ve seen online of the new batch.

@AdamC Thanks much Adam; looking forward to seeing more pics of your fade progression. Going to try and wear mine for a week straight as well to see if I can start getting the electric blue creases like yours. BTW, when you washed your jacket, did you hand wash it or did it go in the washing machine?

Another thing I'm digging about this jacket is that although it's a made in a mechanic jacket style, I can see this easily being worn to dinner or any other semi-formal event. It just strikes me as being able to be dressed up or dressed down. For me this is very different, but very cool; glad I took a chance on it.

I still have my old Vision Rogowski board from waaaay back in the day, and it's pretty much retired. I do surfskate however, and have a Carver Hobo board with CX trucks, as well as a Yow Pipe with Meraki trucks inbound from Spain. Really looking forward to riding that one as I've heard the Meraki trucks mimic the feeling of surfing really well.

I bought the IH526L-OD first, such a great Type lll
Got about 3 months wear into it looking to start wearing it again in January.

But if I had to choose I would go for IH526L it’s bad ass fade potential

I think whatever you go for you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks much man!! Here’s my dilemma. I have a Bravestar 16oz jacket that looks similar to the IH526L. Just wondering if it would be redundant to have the IH526L as it’s also a lot more expensive. The fades I’ve seen on this thread however are nothing short of amazing which is why I’m seriously considering going for it. The 526LOD looked cool because of its black / grey coloration, but there’s just something incredible about the electric blue fades of the IH526L.

Is it difficult to get those nice colors or is it just a matter of wearing the jacket everyday?

@SKT thanks for the info; that really helps. Closest I’ve been able to find is an XXL and while it’s not that much bigger than an XL on paper, my fear is that it would be too big. Guess I’m going to need to wait for restock at Iron Heart.

@DeeDee85 thanks much for the feedback. Patience is a virtue; hopefully it won’t be too long for restock.

@jerkules thanks much for the info. I think at this point I’m going to wait until they get restock of the XL. I could probably make the 2XL work but I’m pretty sure it would look big on me.

@goosehd Great assessment and succinct observations. I’m going to wait until the XL comes back in stock (which may be awhile) so I don’t end up losing a lot of money. Patience is difficult but in the end, I think waiting for the XL will be worth the wait. Thanks again for your feedback.

@pechelman Thanks much!! Yeah, it’s definitely dark. Really hoping I can do it justice in the fade department. Also have a UHF incoming which I’m really looking forward to.
