@goosehd I have farmer friends who have them and hate them. They are just not easy to replace with anything else. Fantastically charismatic beasts, but ostensibly terrible.

Rio’s of Mercedes for Pinto Ranch in buckwheat waxy Kudu. Since I got these I’ve not worn anything else. I need more Rio’s! They fit me like a glove. Fairly sure they make the cowboy boots for RRL most of the time, but they don’t make them in my size!

This was mine, but is no longer mine.
2007 Land Rover Defender DCPU, had been messed about with by Twisted so it was nearly drivable day to day. 2.4L 4 cylinder diesel engine from a Ford Van. Suspension from a covered wagon, I wish it was as water tight as a covered wagon.
It was excellent in the mud, terrible in wet, and worse in the cold. Useful for British potholes, making friends with strangers and pay mechanics mortgages.
I loved it and hated it in equal measure. Not much over landing to be done in the UK, but did manage some of the further camping pitches at various damp campsites.
I put 20,000 miles on it and I sold it for more than I paid, but crucially not more than I spent.
I miss it. I had my fun. It cost more to run per year than a V8 Vantage.

I dig their stuff so much. I both wish I had a vague use case and they had UK stockists at all.

RE: Iron Heart Loyalty Vouchers - 2026 and Beyondposted in News
Exclusive products for the super fans could be worth considering. The sort of things that only the most dedicated of IH fan might want, so not the early access stuff. I am unlikely to make the cut any time soon, mostly because everything I want sells out quicker than I manage to buy it.
Like the idea of pillow cases, or collars for pets, something a bit off brand so not likely to appeal to the masses but that would for those who love it all.
I love the idea of ordering a jacket and getting a collar for the dog in the same fabric that gets to fade at the same time.
Things made with the ends of the rolls, leftovers and offcuts. Nothing general customers will feel hard done by missing out on, but little bits of joy for the die hards.
N1 deck slippers, UHF boxers, discounted snap upgrades, or a special top button.
The key thing is to work out if you want to encourage the loyalty, or reward it.
Tiers or surprises.

Bought a nice pair of jeans from @Bobbymc
He is a new user, and I am relatively new too but he delivered unbelievably well. Buy with confidence.

Seeing such openness from a brand/company is refreshing. The respect for this community is outstanding, and a testament to IHUKs broad customer service.
We aren’t entitled to any of this information.
I hope this improves things for you as hoped, that will improve things for all of us too!

RE: User Experiencesposted in Some Really Boring (but useful) and Some Really Interesting Stuff!
@Walery-Smirnoff I changed my diet significantly. I went to one meal a day for 18 months. I completely changed my relationship with food. My motivation was two fold. I’ve had a chronic knee injustice from rugby in my 20s and I had no more surgical options, and we are on the road of starting a family. Part of that meant that I had to lose the weight. When the motivation is that strong it makes it easier, but not easy. Managed to put 10kg on during a two week holiday in Mexico.

I was a no signed up lurker for a long time. But how I can to be here is slightly longer.
I spent the last two years getting down from 130kg to 80kg. And I have always like nice things. Losing the weight and keeping it off meant I had to buy everything again, and a few times on the way down. From XXL to medium is a ride.
The fun comes that I am 187cm, or 6ft2. That takes basically every heavy flannel shirt off the table but one. When I finally plucked up the courage to buy an Iron Heart shirt I have never looked back.
The welcome has been incredible, so friendly and helpful. I’m still early in my IH life but everything has been excellent so far.

Mine has had numerous 30c washes, and one 60c. Been through our gentle heat pump dryer a few times too. Doesn’t appear to have lost too much at all.

I have been handed down this. It was bought in Botswana or Zimbabwe sometime in the 1960’s when my grandparents were, err, civil servants. I think it is possibly Blesbok.
Oddly this is one of my most prized possessions.

RE: Our Cars (dream or actual)posted in General Chat

The Defender was my previous car, a the Vantage the one before that. The Spider was given to me by my friend, sorry of payment for work, but it was my first car. He even paid for the insurance.
I currently drive an Audi a6 Allroad that the original owner got painted to match his Bentley, so it’s 1 of 1. But very run of the mill. I adore it.

RE: Musicposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
@mclaincausey yes!
I got into Oldham as a teen when my uncle made me a mixtape of sad American music. I have a lot to thank him for for that, had Smog and J Tillman as the other standouts.
Bill Callahan, David Berman and Will Oldham are all in a group in my head. Chuck them in with Tweedy and maybe Isbell, and they’re the defining songwriters of my life.

RE: Musicposted in Hobbies and Pastimes

There are two clear outliers there. I cannot abide pop music, unless it’s a swooning sad lady.

RE: Musicposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
Any Will Oldham/Bonnie Prince Billy fans?
Very much so. I am the only one whose favourite album is Greatest Palace Music. That version of Gulf Shores is one of my all time favourites. I See a Darkness is such a beautiful album. One hell of a songwriter.

I’ve got one of their super weighted hoodies. They’re pretty excellent. Has washed well, including our heat pump dryer.
I am not a streetwear guy, but every time I put this thing on I actually feel cool.

RE: Bronson Shop/Non-Stockposted in Other Brands and Shops
That is quite something!
I’ve had a lot of luck with their stuff. I will be trying a sweatshirt soon. I am not convinced by any the shirts I have tried from the big Japanese makers. They good, but not sure they’re 4x better. I like being able to just wear and throw in the washing machine then the dryer.
I’ve got some fatigues and C3 sweater coming soon. I experienced the fabric of the C2 by Real McCoys a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. But £600 for a repro jumper is out of my budget. Only found Bronson making them along with The Real McCoys. I shall report back.

We embrace the cold and winter. Fires and warm lights, warming drinks and beef wellington for Christmas dinner.
