To be clear I'm joking/exaggerating here. I actually think the Indigo Invitational is great, and am looking forward to joining again for Y5. I'm also too slow of a fader to ever be in the running for a top spot, so I have no disappointments related to my own placing.
Yeah, I’m right there with you - I had no illusions that I had a shot at winning. I am mainly upset with the process and pissed that other contestants in this forum who IMO had more impressive fades AND were voted into the top 16 got the shaft. That said, I already have my Y5 pair
This should in fact be happening! From the Y4 Rulebook:
• First place finishers from each conference will go head-to-head to determine our overall winner.That will be…interesting. I wonder which judges get to decide that?

Could hardly believe it when I saw the top 3 for ROW.
First and second place for ROW were wildcards. For an event like this I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have judges whose aesthetic sense is at odds with the community.
This is the part that irks me the most - why even bother with a voting round when ultimately the community’s voice is overridden by the judges? To me this really taints the results as it feels like the winners were almost forced onto the podium for some reason.
I would honestly like to see judging end at the initial down-select, then have it all democratised and decided by those who put in the time and effort to cross the finish line. I think it would be awesome to have a playoff bracket where the judges’ top 50 gets thinned out and seeded into a bracket based on votes. Then there would be subsequent voting rounds to decided who advances. The championship could be the “ROW conference” winner vs the “SEA conference” winner. Maybe I’ve had too much tequila and am a little too excited for the Eagles game tomorrow, but I think I might be on to something….

RE: IH-634S-UHR - 21/23oz Raw Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
@Oaktavia thanks brother! I think everything looks good with that UHF - IMO it’s one of the best!

RE: IH-634S-UHR - 21/23oz Raw Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
First UHR and first 634 - loving both the denim and the cut!

RE: IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
@Luijim78 good eye - they are the 24.8oz "Extra Hard" Strike Gold! In general the 19oz lefty seems stiffer. The EH denim is super burley due to the thickness of the threads, but the weave is not as tight as the Lefty giving it more natural flex.

@Oaktavia thanks brother
Your leftie pics are a big reason I pulled the trigger on this beast.
@Mizmazzle Lol at L.O.L - I dig it!!!
Post soak fit vid posted to the InstantGrams. I don’t know if I could have asked for a better fit. If you look close you will notice my indigo colored hands which were a result of buttoning and unbuttoning the jacket a few times while it was still damp.

RE: IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
This bad boy arrived today. I just sold my 526PJ because it was a bit too tight over anything other than a t-shirt. This fit pic is over both a sweatshirt and UHF. I think after a soak it’s going to be perfect!

RE: IHSH-336-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Navy Overdyed Black
@Oaktavia Thanks man! Yeah this one is like the stealth bomber of ODUHFs. That will certainly change once the sulphur dye starts to lighten and the pink and green start poppin' out!

RE: IHSH-336-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Navy Overdyed Black
Loving this shirt! Definitely a trimmer fit than the original which is to be expected and not necessarily a bad thing.

RE: IHSH-336-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Navy Overdyed Black
The 336 is one of my all time favorite UHFs, so I couldn’t pass this up. Can’t wait for the pink to start poppin’ through!

RE: IHSH-336-NAV - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Navy
@flannel-slut Thanks! I decided to pull the trigger and added the measurements I'm looking for in the comments during checkout. Fingers crossed that they have one in stock that fits the bill!

RE: IHSH-336-NAV - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Navy
Man, I keep coming back to this shirt. The only thing holding me back are the measurements - seems a bit "boxier" (i.e. wider and shorter) than other UHF westerns. Would be curious to hear how others sized and if the real world fit is same/comparable to others UHF westerns...

RE: RIP Filthy Mike
I had the privilege of meeting Mike at an IH event in Philly a couple years ago. He was such a nice, warm, friendly, all around great dude! I can't believe he is gone. Miss you bro!

RE: IHSH-332-SAX - Ultra Heavy Flannel Anniversary Check Western Shirt - Sax
This was too good to pass up - XXL ordered. My only dilemma was whether or not to swap out the snaps for pearl ones…

My home office was recently downsized. My new office mate, Geraldine the giraffe, seems to have it out for me.
