Many cars won’t start, many break down, schools will close due to not wanting kids at bus stops during the early morning temps. This what heated seats, heated steering wheels and remotes starts were made for.

And engine block heaters it sounds like!!!
Funny story.. my boss had lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for a decade when he decided to move to Florida. He had ordered a new truck before the move, and had all the “cold Weather” stuff installed at the factory - engine block heater, studded tires, etc because it was to be delivered in February.
When he moved, he had the truck routed to Florida, and asked them to remove all the cold weather stuff…. GMC said “the way the truck was ordered is how you will receive it..”
Needs less to say, he now has a bunch of snow gear for a truck in his garage with no use for it in sight
