Hurricane Update:
Well, my backyard in Florida is almost completely under water, and once the sun comes up, I’ll be trying to siphon the water into the nearest drain…but sadly our retention ditches have been full since noon yesterday - winds starting to get really bad here.
And my next door neighbor in Alabama (we still have our house there, we just rent it out) just had an oak tree go through his roof - 6 months after they finished a full gut renovation of the house.
Figured I might as well throw on the SRs and prepare for anything.
**also have my fishing waders in my living room if needed

…People in 50 years:
“Grandpa, I just got a PHD in Bio-Medical Chemistry, got married, and won the lottery!”
Me: Well, I made it through 2020, so we are pretty much the same.

Midwest checking in with civil unrest, riots, calls to defund the police, looting and basic chaos.
Good luck buddy.. Between the hurricanes at one end of the country and the wildfires at the other it all seems a little grim over the pond at the minute :o

Thanks gentlemen! After a day of pumping water off our lot, a think we are down to only 4-6 inches at the high spots, and probably only about 40% of the ground under the house is wet…
Hoping a little sunshine will take care of the rest!
