My wife and I are selling our house and the vast majority of our belongings, quitting our jobs, taking the kids out of school, buying a pick up and a 30’ Airstream and traveling the US full time. We’ll mostly be hopping from National Park to National Park but we’ll be going where the weather suits us really. I’m thinking of starting a thread once it gets closer (June).
Today we booked our first campsite…

Thank you. It won’t be very interesting until we start buying the big stuff like the truck and the trailer. We’ll be roadschooling the kids so my wife will be blogging about that. I figured you guys would be more interested in seeing stuff like me drinking beers in IH, chopping wood in IH, getting bit by snakes in the Southwestern deserts in IH…
I was thinking of free soloing El Capitan but that’s so 2017. And I’m pretty scared of heights.

Wife and I plan the same. Ut don’t have the guts or the patience to do it with the kids. 5 years til their all grown. Looking forward to learning from your experience.

Doing it with kids will be a challenge for sure but the way I see it they’re already sucking the life out of me. They can do that at Joshua Tree or in Moab just as easily but with a much better view.
And when my neighbors get on my nerves I’ll just tell them to go to Hell then I’ll move.

@Matty123 let me know if you need any talking points to aid in your cause. We have lots of information on homeschooling we can share too.
My goal is to start posting on a designated thread once we have the trailer but I’ll also be providing advance notice of destinations so anyone nearby will be welcome to come meet up for drinks and campfire poking along the way. For there is no more satisfying past time than poking a campfire while drinking beers, listening to classic rock and wearing IH.
We’ll also be relying on help from locals to identify the less popular attractions so we don’t get stuck in tourists traps all the time.
