Well, depending on how you define a mass shooting, it's happened about every two days so far this year.  If we include suicides and non-mass shooting homicides, the average is more like several per day.

It was culturally flattering stats for Japan anyway… It's hard to keep academics out of social chit chat for me G. Must have been Chris's statistics that got me going in full throttle academic mode. Sorry for spamming with statistics. Will try to go polish some jade or ride a bike or something

The most important thing about statistics it seems, is not becoming one. Unfortunately that is much easier said than done these days.  Glad my son is still too young to have to explain all this madness to him. I'm not wise enough to know how I fear.
