i had some sort of "cheatmeal" the other night…nachos with cheese and chicken. was ok if i may say so, not the bomb...so def. won't be missing it.
same with a snickers i had like a month ago...really no clue why i ate 2-3 a day back then. tasted awful tbh.

Rafa, I'm doing an anti inflammatory diet to help me out with some health issues. Basically just brown rice, veggies, fruit, nuts, green tea, salmon and chicken. I'm also allowed muesli with almond milk.

I think rice is inflammatory. Don't know why mainstream medicine is always recommending carbs…

                  Yep: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/5710/2

Medicine is so goddamn dumb about diet. Brown rice is less inflammatory than white rice, so they prescribe that, but it's still inflammatory. That's like prescribing light cigarettes to a smoker with lung cancer.

The official diabetic diet in the US is heavy on grains too. Treating a disease with what causes the disease, carbs that promote instability in blood sugar. It's like they're trying to worsen the condition.

                  Think it, be it.

Paleo for me is a very simple life change not a diet. I have no desire to eat anything other than the foods I have become accustomed to. I have tons of energy and feel great.  For me it's a no brainer, the weight loss is just an added bonus.

Couldn't agree more.  I have a few rules of thumb:

                          • if I can't understand the food chain that put a food in front of me, don't eat it.  I don't know what a cheetoh is or where it came from, but I know what a tomato is and basically where it came from (especially if it's from my CSA).

                          • no grains.  This doesn't include quinoa

                          • lots of lean (and where possible grass fed) protein, lots of vegetables, and a little fruit, particularly berries.  Nuts…. Avoid omega-6 rich oils.

These rules of thumb afford me a very broad range of foods that I think are healthful.  This means it's a feasible lifestyle change.  Veganism for me would not be feasible, it would be too constrained for me to maintain it.

                          Think it, be it.

right there with you my brother…though I have to say that I'm not 100% paleo anymore (as you all can see in the beer thread!)...food-wise I'm trying the best I can to still be paleo to at least 90-100% and imo I do pretty good and run pretty good with it! lost about 22lbs. since changing my habbits/life a few months ago and I really do feel great...not missing a thing (though I've had a few paleo unfriendly things, I'm super happy to say that the "want" factor isn't there anymore and I totally can live without that stuff without having the feeling that I'm missing something...which I think is more than great!).

losing weight is just one of the positive side effects when going paleo...
