Hi,
I would like to ask you for advice regarding sizing.

I currently own a 777-XHS 21 oz W30 (a bit small) and a 777-S 14 oz W31 (perfect fit). What size would you recommend for a 25 oz?

@gyom85 I would wait until the next run arrives (expected soon ish) and once we've measured it, you can compare your best fitting pair to the new product chart

@gyom85 sizes do vary between runs. Every new run is measured and we have a saying here on the forum to always trust the measurements. Tag sizes are only a guide, the measurements are key.

Write down your measurements from the pair that fits you best taken exactly as shown in that video. Compare the published measurements to your pair and keep in mind that there could be about an inch in shrinkage (specifically the waist and length). The waist will stretch back out with wear, the length will not. The rest of the jean will shrink some, but not as much as the length/waist.

I always choose a size where the posted measurement is closest to my ideal with pairs that shrink. For example, if my jeans measure 30” at the waist, then I would try and find a pair in the 30-31” range. That takes into account the possible shrinkage that may come with washing.

I love your posts @twin and I've always wanted to ask about the inseam length that you have, since you don't cuff. What did you get them hemmed to, if at all? Did you get them hemmed before soaking?

I'm trying to nail down where I'd get a new pair hemmed down to, before soaking. Its a bit of a hassle to have to send things away to get altered. My current pair of 777 od's are at 29.5" and they fit great, but if I were to purchase an indigo/black pair, I would prefer maybe another ~1.5" for a bit more stacking with or without a cuff.

@Muzura I got them hemmed before the soaking. Leg to a 34.

@Muzura with to get them hemmed until after the fist wash to be sure. The leg length will rise after creasing and will also shrink after first wash/soak

Guys, I'm being confused now, do I take 1.5 inches longer so that extra length shrinks? Or what exactly?
Also, when this XHSib should be restocked?

@FK971 if you want your final hem length to be 31” then you would want them hemmed to 32.5” to account for that potential loss.

Hi all,

For context, I own several pairs of IH-777 jeans, all tagged as 33. My waist is just about 85-86cm.

I have realized that with time and stretch, instead of retaining a slim taper look, they all start to look kind of slim straight (not the aesthetic I was going for).

I have the IH-777S-21's and they are looking more slim straight as well.

My question is, with the impending release of the IH-777-XHSib's coming up (will def be a grail purchase for me) - I want to get the sizing spot on!

I know it's hotly contested about pre and post-wash measurements but with these I do not intend on washing them (for a long while at least).

I want to ensure I really retain the slim taper aesthetic on these as I do like my clothing fitted (not skinny-like, but definitely fitted)

I see the size chart for the IH-777-XHSib's would recommend a 33 but I'm wondering if I should go 32 to account for stretch and the inherent looser weave of this ultra heavyweight denim.

Any advice is appreciated!

@Art-Vandelay go by the measurements when they are released as they may be different to the last run. Unless they are I wouldn’t size down. Also, you must sow 25oz before wear to remove shrinkage and set the seams.
