Thinking of buying a Filson Mackinaw wool bomber for winter… Pretty damn cheap at 225 $ (160 €) and made in the USofA... Anyone here who has one?..

The funny thing is that Haraki has no particular affinity for loopwheeled.  He'll spec something and if it comes out as loopwheeled, that's just an accident.  So he never bothers to mention to me if something is or is not loopwheeled.  I'll check…

That's an interesting point, but hard to tell/guess. A friend of mine told me, that the Red Wing market in Japan is three times as big as the whole european market. And as I think, that Repro brands are quite big in Japan, I assume that Samurai and Flat Head are among the bigger high end denim brands. But Edwin for example will sell much more. Momotaro and IH have way more retailers in the western countries as Samurai, so maybe they are in  whole pretty equal.

I'm sure Kiya did a post about this on SUFU ages ago. Very interesting question though, and I have often wondered particularly about Samurai, as they have such a massive catalogue of items.

Here's a random question. Giles, this one may be for you, but anyone should chime in if you can help. I'm looking for a heavy weight full-zip wool sweater, one solid color preferably, and super high quality of course. Who better to ask than the IH crew?! To further tighten the parameters, let's shoot for anything not made in China.

Btw, I'm totally in love with this forum.  I've been into high quality goods for the last few years, and I'm always on the lookout for new brands. It all started with my first pair of Wesco's, and then got my first Aero Jacket.  I don't have a whole lot of money, so the money I do have is invested into clothing items that will last, can be rebuilt, repaired, or are worth repairing.  I was totally amazed when I saw the IH/Aero collaboration thread. Wow! So, as you can see, this forum is full of my people; people like me, who like high quality goods, and people that understand that you get what you pay for.

btw, I'm anxiously awaiting my first pair of 634s which should arrive tomorrow. Thanks Giles!

It's a tough search, but I'm up to the task.  Thanks!

That's the problem! I'll know it when I see it though. This is the great thing about asking for help on the internet. You get all sorts of ideas from all over, and the world is so much smaller now.
