This has certainly piqued my interest. I'm reading through the thread now and they make multiple references to "adversity over the past year." Can anyone shed some light on what this is in reference to?

Simple, Mt Fuji and Hakone. Best day trip ever.

Start off at the main Tokyo Bus terminal, after they pick you up at your hotel. You go to a place called "Peace Park", which contains loads of buddhist and Hindu shrines donated by countries all over the world, beautiful landscaped gardens, and some of the most ornate koi ponds you will ever see.

Next you go up Mt Fuji, not to the tops, just to a bit with a nice view, some awful toilets, and the maddest gift shops on the face of the earth. Great little beer shop there as well.

Next you go for dinner at an enormous hotel, and I mean huge !!! The hotel is at the base of Mt Fuji, and when we went it appeared to be deserted, apart from the staff and our bus trip, but this is not the oddest thing about the place….it is also home to Thomas The Tank Engine World !!!!! Also, they served us a traditional English Sunday dinner, on TTTE plates and cutlery.

Finally, you go for a quiet cruise across lake Ashi at the base of Mt Hakone (Japans biggest active Volcano), in a fucking Pirate Ship!!! From there you go to a mental Japanese holiday camp, done in a Swiss style, with more gift shops and restaurants etc..., and a cable car to the top of Mt Hakone. At the top there is a run down tower, and a Shinto shrine. When you come back down you drive back to Tokyo through some rather pleasant and interesting countryside.

                            Highly recommended  😉

Sweet, thanks Mega. You sold me with Thomas the Tank Engine!

I'll tell the missus to slot it into our itinerary.

                              🙂

Hi Shoreman, I got one last year (without realising it) when I bought the basic US Navy Peacoat from Silvermans in the UK. The wool seems very good, it's great value and I like the fit, but the stitching on the pockets and buttons leaves something to be desired on mine. I had to re-stitch the top button almost immediately, and the lining on the right hand pocket went where it's stitched to the wool. I know they do some more fashion/high street models though, so they could be better. All things considered though, for about £135 it's a great winter jacket.

I posted a few pics ages ago here:

Thanks, Mike. The input is appreciated. My brother is in the market for a pea coat and I figured I'd grab him one for Christmas, so we're off to Rooney today to check these out. I'll be sure to pay close attention to the stitching for weaknesses.

Hey guys, can anyone give an example of some hand agitation techniques? I plan on presoaking today and would like to try and get rid of a bunch of shrinkage. Plan on doing a very hot soak and just move the jeans around in the container for a bit. Is this enough? Or since they'll be folded, should I unfold, dip in the water, fold, etc..? I don't like using a tub to soak.
