Mega: I did indeed tell the seller to go to his local USPS office, tell his story and show them the receipt… There's a 50 $ dicrepancy in what the service he wanted  would've cost in the first place, and a ~30 $ difference between what the Priority Airmail service should've cost him...

rocket: just read your PM. Although USPS Priority Airmail is supposedly no longer tracked, it actually IS most of the time… Although they told him the service didn't come with a tracking #, the code on the receipt would enable me to track it more than likely!.. So I'll be asking the seller for the # he was given... But trust me: it was nót shipped with UPS...

I've always been able to track USPS priority international and never had a problem

Actually I once sent a package to the wrong country, Malaysia instead of the Philippines or something like that, was several years ago, it ended up in the right place about a week late

USPS offices have been telling the seller that Priority Mail is not tracked for over a year now, but it actually is… This might be because Paypal no longer accepts a USPS PA receipt as proof of shipment...

Seller was inexperienced shipping int'l. I'm not, and was trying to help out.

I'll just tell future sellers if postage is 5 $ more than what I told 'm it'd be, to get back at me…

is it save to ship as certified shipping or would you say insured+tracking is the best bet?

I shipped a pair of sr's the other week. Insured with tracking cost £75.00 with Parcelforce weight was 1.7kg. Took 4 days.

No problem, tracking just in the UK and delivery confirmation would have been 1/3 of the price. But I thought it was best to be sure.

depends on the weight Finn, for up to 2KG use Einschreiben + Zusatz Option Wertbrief International, cheaper than DHL and still full insured, otherwise use DHL (more tracking options etc)

I like this question.  I ask myself this almost everyday except with the following:

Should I spend almost X dollars ,that I don't really have, on some item X that I don't really need ?

I believe this is more of a philosophical question than.  X varies from day to day.  It could be a record, a watch, a dvd, boots or more importantly some IH item.

I think you are just as well letting a magic eight ball conjure up the answer than asking people here.

I mean, for god's sake, LOOK AT MONDAY"S CLOSET!!!  That is only the shirts!!!
