@wjw. We were the same size or close to it. I am 4xl on most tops and the sleeves are always long. Not a complain they just are. On bottoms I am 36 and sometimes 38. Both work. Cuts 666, 555 and 777 are a no go. Thigh too small. 634 and sometimes 888 works. Now I do not have a typical build for my height and there is no way IH or any clothing company can design clothes for outliers like myself. 182 cm tall about 5 foot 11 and 3/4. 112 kg with a 36 inch waist and 28.5 inch thighs.

@yannis yeah we are pretty close. 6', 225lbs, 3X-4X. 37" waist (post stretch on all the jeans), 13.5"ish thigh. Been loving the 634 cut.

As for sizing questions… there’s a sizing thread. Maybe direct all the sizing questions there. Or use the advanced search feature or read the threads since every sizing and fit question has been asked a million times over the past 20 years.

I am quoting the above, because I could have written it myself. Thanks for saving me the trouble @Matt

But to expand. One of the aims of the website was to have some semblance of consistency with our presentation of products, that includes similar sized models which makes comparing the look of different produts easier.

One of the main aims of the forum was to give people of all different shapes and sizes the opportunity to post pics of themselves in our products, i.e. to see what "real" people look like in our stuff. That is the main reason we have the "Discuss in Forum" hyperlink on product pages. Maybe we could word the hyperlink better, so it is more obvious. As it stands it looks like the call to action is for your to do something, but actually it is to read a load of useful info....

And I think the forum has served this purpose amazingly well for all these years! The problem is, folks like to pop-off and just post their immediate need question, and don’t take the time to read or explore any of the information that came before. The number of repetitive questions in the recent Self Edge threads nearly drove me batty.

What drove me batty, is that I know for a fact, that lots of members just stopped following those (and similar) threads because of the repetitive questions.

@Giles I appreciate the forum very much! Your reasoning makes total sense, and understand why fix what's not broken. It's more so for those limited releases, where sometimes you only see the forum for pics after it's sold out. But greatly appreciate the wealth of knowledge here!

I understand I am a newer member to the forum so maybe don't have as much right to share a gripe but doing it anyway.

What irks me most is when I see a thread on a product I am interested in/excited about has a new post (SE overdyed CPO for example) or one that I want to see fade progress on (295), I click it to see what new info might be available or photo has been posted and it turns out it's another question about the overdye method or some generic sizing question that could be answered by checking sizing guide. SE thread was the primo example as @sabergirl mentioned.

@wjw I understand, but there really is not much we can do about that. If you are worried about how something will work for you. Buy it, and return it if it does not work, or buy 2 sizes and return the one that does not fit so well. If it's going to sell out, getting one back in stock after week or so is a non problem for us.

@sabergirl absolutely. A forum that I used to frequent, car based, the first post on every question was ‘have you searched’. People don’t mind sharing knowledge but giving the same answers over and over gets old pretty quick. It’s why it’s a shame Facebook killed most of the forums as it’s a terrible way of centralising knowledge

Having had the IH crew help with getting a pair of the 634 SB, it got me wondering, for future reference: If I’m between sizes (tag 31 and 32 for example) and am fussy/ awkward/ particular (delete as appropriate! ) is there a better chance of finding a larger 31 or a smaller 32?
Probably the answer is: “it depends “!
