@V-P One option that a few of the forum members have tried is taking their jeans to a tailor and having them fitted exactly the way they wanted. It’s turned out well for those who have tried and might be something that would work for you.

@goosehd I've considered doing that but I'm not sure if I can find a tailor I trust where I live (Sweden). I need to do some research I guess. Does anyone have pictures of their recut/tapered jeans?

I linked to his pictures, but if you go back through the thread you will get more information on what he did and who he used (Denimdoctor).

@V-P One other thing and this is just my opinion…pictures may be helpful for you, but what you need to decide is what you want out of a tailoring request. What works for the cut, what doesn’t, and where does it need to change?

Once you have answered those questions, then you need to speak with a tailor and describe what you’re looking for. Slimmer jeans is not always helpful and more information is often needed. Working with a tailor is a two person job for success. What you want and what they can do.

@goosehd Nothing drastic really. I basically want a 555 or 666 with a taper from the knee to 6.5-7". So just a slight taper compared to what is offered but it would make a difference to me. Some room in the thighs is fine, I'm not looking for a tight/skinny jean fit. I do like the 777's but they still often end up at 7.5-8" in my size. Ideally, I would also want something with a slightly higher rise than the 777's (though I still love my 777 19oz LHT's).

@V-P Please study these links as the jeans (555, 666, 777) you listed all have different characteristics. Starting off with a pair that most closely matches your end goal will make the process much easier on you and the tailor.

@V-P I agree with your request. The 888 and 777 don't work for me. The low rise of the 777 makes me look weird and the 888 seems way to relaxed up top. I found a lady that tapers my jeans for $15 here around town. Fantastic job. She did my 21oz(attached) and currently has my 14oz ib and duck 555's. She's tapering them a little less at the hem than pictured. As it's hard to put on my tall lace ups. 1000021057.jpg 1000020879.jpg

@V-P the pair in the pic she did the selvedge/outside. So she didn't cut the fabric. I asked for the inseam to be cut this time.

Probably not, but some of us are obsessed enough with our denim that we sleep in it. Moreso because we just love to wear it 24/7, not so much that we expect any real difference in fading. With that said, I do wear my overdyed UHFs to bed and they look more worn than they would had I left them on a hanger in my closet. So, no, but maybe, probably not but something may happen.

I feel like, outside of the fading potential, sleeping in our denim speeds up how quickly it molds and shapes to our body....as well as softens the denim faster. I've also noticed a much more rapid amount of drool build up on my right sleeves.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...
