I thought so, but better to double check....

@nwills Purely on aesthetics, that medium looks as close to a perfect fit as you'd get.

@T4920 Agreed. It feels snug and I won't be able to layer anything thick underneath but I think that's a trade off I'm willing to take to achieve the desired look. I'm also hoping that it does have some "give" over time as I wear it but that seems uncertain and I have read contradicting posts on the subject.

@nwills my IH T3 is almost skin type when buttoned up, but I can fit thick layers underneath it if I leave it open.

It'll definitely stretch a little, and yeah having a closer full of expensive gear is the best incentive to get/stay in shape!

                  Hi,

I am new to wearing this type of denim and I must admit it is the best I’ve ever owned!

Having said that I just purchased the 21oz type 3 denim jacket and it feels like I’m wearing something made of cardboard. My girlfriend calls it my bullet proof vest.

Can I expect this thing to soften up? Will it be a long process? Sitting in it is difficult since it barely folds. While standing not so much of a problem.

What can I do to help the process…obviously wearing it often seems like one thing but any other pointers?

21oz breaks in nicely and softens a lot. Keep at it and it’ll be worth it. One trick is to give it a soak and wear it for a few minutes while damp to set some creases. Not needed, but I like it to help remove any remaining shrink and form it to my body. After that, wear as much as possible without washing!

@nwills I’ve moved your question to here and yes, time is your friend and wearing it as much as you can. I found that wearing it in the rain helped speed up the process, but in the end, it really is just time and wear.

Thanks! I thought about the soak and wear damp method but my jacket is perfectly fitted to me…any shrinkage would be a problem so I’ll just wear it constantly.

@nwills wear it every single day all day and even at night when you’re home and relaxing. You’ll be surprised how quickly it softens up.

As for the shrink if it gets wet…it should be minimal if at all if cold water is used. Don’t put it in the washing machine but just cold soak in the bathtub. The agitation of the washing machine is what causes the most shrinkage when a garment is new.

If even the smallest amount of shrink scares you…then don’t soak it dude. You may have to just not wash it ever. Which is something we have to deal with to maintain a perfect fit sometimes. Though that is rare.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

Were there once product pages for sonder supplies products that will come back once the shop is back online? I wanted to add some pictures of the Trophy Ranger jacket as it changes

So is Sonder Supplies coming back? My assumption was it was closing, which I thought was a huge shame as I enjoyed the brands/products on offer. Great news if it’s getting phoenixed

                                        Black Denim Shirt

As a fan I am starting to accumulate a nice collections of jeans, jackets, and flannels, and am ready to pull the trigger on a denim shirt. I am giving serious consideration to the Kersey, the Double Cloth, and 10 oz selvedge, and the Mock Twill, all in
Black all in Western. I am leaning towards reactive dye liking the less fading but maybe the overdye or sulphur dyes age nicely with some fades? Any recommendations to get me into a denim shirt…sooner than later 😊
