I always buy more than 1 pair, because if I like them and wear them to work, with some chemicals I deal with, I can easily destroy a pair within minutes. Not that I try to, but shit happens.

Funny thing, the second pairs of Iron Hearts I bought were from Self Edge S.F. 634S-SEXIH13, which I forgot about, but I'm wearing them today. I first got this pair in 2014, dropped a slab of PVC glue on them, and then found IH UK. rest is history, but I still like them. I also have another pair or 2 of them.

I also rotate quite a few pairs, depends on the weather where I am traveling to, and my mood.

A1: Currently 7 pairs. Soon to be 8 ( 633S-OD in the works, from SE )
A2: It doesn't bother me, at all. My current line-up includes:

ONI 546 Nat Indigo Kabuki VedgeThe appearance of each is so different from the others, "a wardrobe of jeans that basically look the same" is not an issue. The Lefty's have been with me the longest, and have by far the most evo. I was never in any hurry to get them there, though. If it takes 10 years to get all of them nicely faded, so be it. I'm just going to enjoy the ride…
Edit: I should add, I also have 4 pairs ( IH 817, 666 UHR, 2 Gustin), that I wear strictly to work, as well. My job has a tendency to destroy denim, in any price range. As the others age, they will replace these.

I've got 6-7 pairs, though I plan to dump a couple soon. And yes, it does bother me that I have jeans I never wear. That's why I talked myself out of buying a pair of natural indigo Sd'A jeans this weekend, even though Self Edge is selling them for more than 50% off original price right now.

Gets worn 99% Of the time.

My previous favourite (whatever that may be) gets worn maybe 1 day a month when I need a change, or wash day etc...

Myself , i pretty much stick to 2 pairs. One for work which get trashed and another for weekend / going out. I do bring a heavily faded pair out of lighter weight denim sometimes in the summer.
I have this weird thing where basically once I start wearing a pair and they start to have any wear on them. I want them to fade as fast as possible.

I currently have two pairs: one black, one indigo. Both acquired in November, wasn't the plan to go back to jeans, really… Fine with just rotating workpants...

I have a ridiculous number of pants, and a lot of them are jeans. There are about three pairs that get consistent wear, and the rest get buried on the shelf in the closet until I remember them again. It does bother me sometimes that it takes a long time to see the full potential of my jeans. This doesn't keep me from getting more, though.

I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30 different pairs of jeans from all different brands, I usually wear one for a period of time until I put on another that I enjoy more.
I like collecting so I don't mind that some will never get fully beat up, and then sometimes I'll sell a few off to get some cash for other new pairs.

the simple answer to your 2 part question is as follows
yes, i have more than one pair of denim.
no, it doesn't bother me to have a couple pairs on deck. i enjoy denim and do not really care about the end result of heavy use. do not get me wrong, i love well-worn denim, but that tends to happen regardless for me when the fit works for my body type. actually, even when my body type doesn't work i tend to hold on (555-02 with like a half dozen repairs)
i enjoy different types of denims and cuts and usually as long as i can clear a transfrisker i hold onto them for a little while. i also tend to purchase denim that is unique enough with or without wear that the difference is evident with or without wear.

Well put @madmonday! I've always gravitated to items that are rare and unique (which is how I stumbled upon IH in the first place). Also, for the record, I can't even recall how many pairs of denim I own at the moment ???

Another vote for @madmonday‘s response. I have a number of pairs in various brands, weights, colours and fits. The hairiness and feel of my Momos, the slub and weft of my XX-014s, the perfect (for me) black colour of my 777S-21BLKs, each is special and unique (to me at least.)
