IHWE-FP-BLP - Iron Heart Int'l x Wesco® - Rough-Out Boot - Burlap. The "Foot Patrol"
-
@h3n9 I have this happen to my feet in boots with low forefoot volume. Have not had a pair of Wesco yet but it's happened to me in Truman's, Vans sneakers and a pair of Trickers. Found boots with more prominent structured toes to help out a lot. It's our feet; we have weird feet. Welcome to the club!
-
@GardenState I'm glad to join the club and not be the only one that this is happening to. Thanks!
-
@Kfactor a few belated shots of the first run of burlap. To me its a narrow D , they no longer fit like they did but I liked them
-
Bought these on Markkt, they are new, @Oaktavia you're right, the break in period will not be long as they fit almost directly like a glove, like i said on the black foot patrol topic, i wasn't be able to choose so i bought both and i don't regret it, they are incredible...

what would the sizing advice be if I wear a 10.5D Boss and 10.5E Mister Lou?
-
@hgering27 I'd probably go with the E on this one. More similar in fit in the toe area to the MrLou and less roomy than a Boss
-
What exactly is burlap leather? Cow? Not horse for this price..
If it helps anyone I wear 11D in Nick's, Whites and Truman. My Mr. Lou are 10.5E and are slightly to big. I've fixed my issue with a medium leather insole. -
@CosmoSix5 Burlap is just in reference to the colour on this one. the hide itself is cowhide

The email dropped for me today and saw these and thought, "Oh my!"
This spring, my beloved pair of suede J Shoes chukka boots finally gave up the ghost. They were my go-to, business travel shoes; light, comfortable, paired well with all manner of business casual, and uncommon. I love them.
These look like a worthy replacement, even if they aren't nearly as light. I'm still enjoying my 7" cap toe IH Wesco collab. I think they're called the Guildsman these days. Nonetheless, killer boots.
Is the last the same on these Foot Patrols as the Guildsman?
-
@Bobcat-Sig Nice to hear you're considering them! These and the Guildsman are both on the motorcycle patrol last, so i'd recommend taking the same size in both of them

I'm way late replying, forgive me. Good to know. I assumed they'd be the same.
How's the toe box on these? Same as the Guildsman (fka The Alex)? Is there any structure to the toe box? I ask becuase intend them for smart casual wear and I'd like the toe to hold its shape, to a degree.
-
@Bobcat-Sig Yeh, similar toe profile to the Guildsman and the tow will hold its shape - i'd say almost ideal for smart casual or daily office wear
-
@Ross Much appreciated! Thank you.

How are you fellas (and ladies?) treating these boots?
I know they aren't suede, but roughout, instead. My thought woudl be to treat them with some sort of boot/suede-specific even if there's a small risk of the leather darkening a slight bit. I know both Obenauf and Bick offer a product.
What do you recommend to keep the boots looking sharp?
-
@Bobcat-Sig I know there's a few different products around, but honestly when it comes to rough-out i personally think all you need is a stiff bristle brush to scrub the dirt off every so often and that's about it...one of rough-out's big advantages is easy maintenance

Last question (probably?) what should I expect as US buyer now that these boots have exceeded the $800 USD de minimus threshold for import duties? What should I expect to pay and what's the process for receiving such an item when import tax is due?
Have my fellow US-based IH buyers gone through this?
I appreciate the help
