@mclaincausey without getting all audiophile geek, I enjoy it's sound. It's clear and crisp without losing bottom. I try and research and buy the best my wallet can stretch to. As with most things, the ex demo and 2nd hand markets are a good place to get value for money.
@setandsetting that's a nice looking set up. I wasn't familiar with simaudio so looked them up. So nice components too. I want to move away from integrated amplifiers in future too. My dream would be a valve amp. My mortgage says otherwise!

Mine wouldn't be classified Hi Fi but Sonos 3s throughout the house and a 5 in the listening lounge hooked up to my LP so I can stream records through the house. Best sounding speakers I have are some early 90s Paradigm 9se but they're just hooked directly to a Pioneer receiver in the living room and paired with a Paradigm center channel and a Sony sub. Really more for watching sports and movies but once I get them hooked to Sonos they will be playing more music cos they do it so well.
I'd love to beef up my rig some day but in terms of convenience it's great.

@Sam there is something quite romantic about the sound of an old record player. I used to have a gramaphone that we'd break out on Sunday mornings, play a few blues 78s and have a coffee. Great stuff.

I have the 235s with cables as well as the Bluetooth adapter and love them. I use the foam tips.
Only complaint is that the mic pics of a ton of ambient noise, frustrating efforts to use my phone in loud environments.

Nice . Just saw this thread while spinning MGLA .
It's an acoustic signature (small German manufactory) with rega tonearm and benz micro ace sl cartridge from switzerland. Preamp is a heed quasar. Sounds pretty nice but I'm always changing from time to time. Got an eye on a nottingham spacedeck but can't afford at the moment . Maybe someday….

yeah i was contemplating the shure bluetooth adapters. but i was introduced to the westones bluetooth adapter and the cable connection for the ear buds are the same. placebo effect or not, i felt the westones bluetooth adapter had a better output than the shure ones.. which makes me contemplate getting a pair of westones um pro 50s..
no comment on the ambient nosie with mic. didn't notice much difference when i had them wired..

One area where the Shure unit shines is battery life. It lasts forever, and this includes when not in use. It can sit turned off for days and still have several hours left when you fire it up. It's also a bit more compact. But I'd bet dollars to doughnuts the sound is better on the Westones.

didn't really take note of the battery life of the wireless unit. during comparison, i've only tested the sound quality. in real life use with the westones unit, it's managed to meet my demands so far. with that being said, i haven't flown any long haul flight lately. my nov flight to the UK(13+hrs) will be a good test to see how the battery holds up for the duration of the flight.
i was speaking to the guy at the audio store and he was introducing me to earphone amplifiers as well. it definitely makes a huge difference to what you plug into but i still can't bring myself to carry another extra unit around, especially when i use it mostly for travel.

Amps are great, but indeed kind of a hassle. Not sure how that would work with BT though.
