Yes, you are absolutely correct. But I'm guessing the lining has an influence on the feeling since the 'thickness' of the vamp is doubled allowing for less give and 'stretch' which might attribute to the roomier feeling.

I've also read that different leathers can be lasted different: some can be lasted tighter and some can't be pulled as hard over the last. I don't know if this is true or might have influence on the fit.

Anyway, it's strange because looking top down at both boots next to each other the profile is near identical. Funny how those things work sometimes. Either way, both are great boots and very comfortable. A different pair of socks can sometimes be enough to fine tune the fit to perfection.

@Kasi that image was taken a long time ago but something like this should do the trick. @Ross recently polished a pair of Natural Mr Lous and they came out golden.

I was thinking of natural polish by Saphir Pâte de Luxe.
Good stuff for good leather.
