@northsouthdenimguy Did you go for 2XL or 3XL?
-
2XL, should be perfect if the measurements are consistent with the sizing chart. Will cold soak it tighten it up a bit maybe warm if needed. That 27.25 chest measurements on the 3xl is to big for me.
-
@MrJay Oh man that would be so sick, thanks for that information, adding little more pep to my step today.
-
Its here…
Really nice and softer than I thought it would be. Pretty good pre-soak fit, currently have it soaking in barely warm water. I think it’ll take out the right amount.

-
@northsouthdenimguy looks great man. Mine just came. I did a 40 minute hot soak. Now it’s in the wash on hot and then I’ll machine dry it and I think it should fit just like my indigo which would be perfect

-
Nice! Looks great
Yeah, we’ll see how this goes. I don’t really need to do much, just trying to tighten it up a bit. If the warm soap doesn’t work, then I’ll crank it up a notch, but I don’t think I’ll need to fully dry it. Maybe I’ll wait until it’s about 80 to 90 percent dry and then throw it in the dryer.
The length is probably the main thing that needs to shrink.

Sashiko’s look

A little Sj Gah

-
The hatchet is so dope!
-
The soak pretty much did nothing on the black Sashiko, so I went full nuclear. I hot washed it and put it in the dryer on high for 15 minutes. Now it’s finishing up in front of a fan. Wish me luck

-
@northsouthdenimguy mine shrank considerably doing the same. I actually did 2 hot soaks/ 2 hot washes and 2 hot dries just to try to get as much out as possible. It shortened a bit but not a ton. Seems just about the same as my indigo now. Feels perfect in the body
-
Still a little damp, but I think the hot wash and the partial machine dry worked pretty well. I’m going to throw it back in the dryer to finish it up.
This is my first experience with this fabric type other than a Soso shirt that I had made so I was a little hesitant to do anything drastic to begin with, cold or warm soaks are always my go to. That’s Soso shirt felt like cardboard sandpaper compared to this one.

-
@northsouthdenimguy looks great man. After trialing with the indigo I have my methods. I tend to do a suuuuuper hot soak until the water is cool to the touch, hot wash and then hot dry. My issue is a 2xl would probably fit me, but I’d be afraid that the pits would get way too tight once it touched water
-
Definitely understand
I prefer my shirts more fitted. Also, when I take these photos, they are not exactly how they look in person. Things get scrunched up or pulled in…
-

-
@northsouthdenimguy @hgering27 you both look great in your ori shirts!! Glad you finally got them. I will definetely try to preorder the indigo one next time. Are preorders also crowded and sold out quick?
-
@FlavourFade XL went in like 30 seconds for the indigo. I didn't even have a chance for the black. And I was a few minutes early. Good luck on the next round
-
@catdad1 okay like expected... If I don't make it I just wait for the IHSH-437
-
@FlavourFade thanks man! It’s tough on preorders but possible. They basically do an allotment of slots and then whatever sizes are ordered are what they make. But hopefully they’ll have a good stock of the indigo

I was offered a Wills jacket in 2XL-Long, and I'm trying to figure out if the sizing will work for me.
I had a size 4XL IHJ-104-BLK Oiled Cotton Chore Coat, which was almost identical in the dimensions, except that the shoulder width of the Iron Heart was (according to the chart) 21.3" and the Wills is (according to the chart) 20.75".
My shoulders and upper chest are the pain point in Iron Heart gear. I gave the chore coat to my brother because it was too tight there, and my IHSH-289 sometimes gapes slightly between the second and third button. The Wills is half an inch narrower through the shoulders, but it has a pleated back, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it.
@northsouthdenimguy do you have a Wills? If so, what size? Your chest and arm measurements are the same as mine.
