Saw this article earlier regarding a Google / Levi mashup to create a so called "smart" jacket.

Spoiler: it ain't that smart and looks fugly.

I guess it goes to show that the future tech clothing is coming wether we want it or not.

      Do we want this?

Any great ideas on what smart things we could get clothes to do?

Will we get smart slacks as well?

Ive had similar issues with "smart" watches. While there may be a certain degree of convenience to them, and nothing against folks who wear them, for me its just not what I want my watch to look like.

You won’t be satisfied until you wear Iron Heart.

This is good news. I've often wondered where I might find an IH-quality oxford-type dressier shirt. Problem solved. While you're at it, you should probably start thinking about an IH-quality blazer to go along with the shirts. I mean, you might as well.

I once fell asleep on my bicycle, and woke up in a creek, soaking wet… So that would indeed come in handy...

Yeah, but it was Belgian water.

Besides, to a drunken sot like Seul, water is probably like battery acid.

The Verge has a review video.

The Guardian's article mentions it can only be washed ten times before it loses functionality. I don't think that'd be an issue in practice, as my jackets rarely go through the laundry.

It looks an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how useful it'd be in practice. A smartwatch offers more functionality at a similar price point.

Oddly enough, I was thinking the other week how cool it would be to offer up Westerns in fabrics like poplin and such (like Shuttle Notes). Probably not what you had in mind but would be cool just the same. Iike heavyweight fabrics but I often reach for my thin cotton button ups because I can be a sweaty bastard
