I’m not sure if this counts as action but my wonderful wife has a tendency to suggest remodelling of rooms just before xmas. Resistance is futile.
So we have a newly tiled floor in our entrance hall and now I’ve taken out a door, resized the opening, ripped out the old mdf boards and installed chipboard with a bonded paintable surface. Happy fekkin advent. That’s while I’m not sitting watching the backs of teenagers heads while they are doing midterms. Happy fekkin advent [emoji1506]

To paraphrase the movie Blood Diamonds, «This is Norway». Despite living in the wealthiest welfare state on the planet, where every student aged 13-18 has their own laptop and pupils younger than that their own iPad, local authorities seem incapable of doing things properly if «properly» costs money. So instead of cable channels/sockets in the floor we basically have extension leads in the false ceiling.
To be fair this part of the school was built in the early 80’s. The newer parts have better integrated services.

Gotta love seeing both Lowe's and Home Depot boxes.
As it happens, we were royally fecked by them both! We literally changed our "wedding" "registration" ("if you insist on getting us something, make it a gift card") of HD gift cards to Lowe's ones due to feckery, then had still more feckery at Lowe's. I'm just glad I wasn't with Brandi when said Lowe's feckery was addressed in a less-than-Iron Heart level of customer service by a terrible GM. I couldn't believe what a dickhead this guy was.

Getting things into the boxes, then cleaning afterwards was my role today. Tomorrow will be getting things out of boxes, then assembling stuff. And our movers were fantastic. I'll have to take a picture of the garage Tetris they performed…
