There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

That's what I meant by frigging the Kansai, just couldn't remember which bit caused the roping.
-
Yeah, it's skewing from unequal movement by the feed dog on the bottom and the presser foot on top. I can make a standard flatbed lockstitch machine put roping on a hem. Not easily, but I'm largely incompetent…

And I thought I was a denim nerd.

I used to obsess over details, slubs, loom chatter, singed finishes, unbleached wefts etc….. These days I just wear jeans that I like and don't think too much about it

Will IHUK ship to Hawaii?

Matty strikes again. I manage to bother Giles with questions he’s already answered. I’ve been shipping things there lately and a lot of vendors don’t.

Here’s a stupid-ish question: does anyone have a sure-fire method and/or product for preventing their thick leather patches from cracking? Particularly before/after a hot wash for shrinkage.
-
@Filthy25ozJunkie posted in cleaning denim that he never hot washes, there's a photo of a patch thats darkened to a beautiful coffee color.

I guess the coastal parts of my country will be as humid as Okinawa. Will it help if you wrapped the clothes in plastic or any water-resistant material?
Also - @Giles I am guessing Gosport is also fairly humid. Is humidity a factor to consider while packing things to hand down to one's kids? Also, how do they keep rolls of deadstock denim for so many years?
[Can I do this in a country like India with its heat and humidity? Thanks
I know India is more humid that Okinawa, Japan (Which is pretty damn humid, might I add), so outside of sealing them in air-tight containers, I don't see any way possible.
I literally lost 10-20% of my wardrobe once in Okinawa, because I traveled for work for 30 days… When I got back home, a much of my stuff was mildewed and moldy. Basically, anything that was "dark colored", including leather shoes/boots.
Terrible experience.](https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1)
