Finally got the cargoes @Appfaff ! Measured them this morning and I'll send you both the pre and post wear measurements when I've worn them a few times and remeasured.
Initial impressions are that they will stretch at the waist. The herringbone feels light and stretchy. Beautiful fabric and perfect for my warm conditions.

I got a pair from the last round of the Outlet, and finally wore them last weekend. The waist stretched in the matter of a few hours at the bar, though I don't have numbers.
