Fels-Naptha - Laundry Bar & Stain Remover

Part of my "Care Package" from @Warner .  Vintage Fels-Naptha bar, I have no idea where he found it, but it's great…..

I forgot that Giles had this shipped to my house before heading off to him, I thought someone punked me when I received dozens of bars of soap on my doorstep.

I honestly thought it was a Full Metal Jacket reference.

This stuff works on every garment I've used it on…everything. White shirts, "set stains", pop, beer, dirt, rust, various foods. So glad I found this thread a little while back. Only stain remover I'll probably ever use [emoji106]

I am pretty happy with the results. They feel really clean, soft, and smell great. I think it does better than my Woolite Dark and Dr Bronners.

Another satisfied customer. I tested it for a long while before I recommended it. I think it is great stuff. You can also add a few tablespoons of 20 Mule Team Borax if your garment is super dirty and dingy.

I know this is a super old thread but I came across it in a search and it seems potentially helpful to me.

@Filthy have you ever used this stuff on overdyed denim? I got some avocado on a pair of 666s after one slipped out of my hand as I was cutting it up. Since they’re basically all fat, it left a nice oily stain that didn’t come out with a wash.

Was thinking of spot treating with Dawn since that usually works for me on oily stains — I just have a slight worry it could lighten the overdye and just leave a different sort of spot in the old one’s place. Curious if you’ve used the naphtha bar for this sort of thing.

I have not because I don't have any overdyed stuff. But it should be okay. I wash my jeans in Dawn all the time. I made this thread because the Fels Naptha seems a lot like Samurai Thunder soap. But way cheaper. It smells better too.

Rad — thanks, man! I figured it’d probably be ok, never had Dawn mess anything else up but always a good thing to double check and ask. I’m gonna snag a bar of this stuff too, looks like it’ll be perfect to have around.

I love the way naphtha smells. Reminds me of being a little pyro
