@DeeDee85 thanks man, yeah can't really see from my poorly lit phone photos but the electric blue fades are now just developing and it's a nice stage

@Giles thanks. Yeah, not really into guessing on a $500 jacket and shrinking it too much, but if it's done right the fit looks second to none. I absolutely love the look of this type 3. Best overall fitting one I've seen on people. I dig the slightly slimmer sleeves. I was considering the OD version since the guess work is taken out and it's the same fit. I'm just personally into classic indigo or straight up black denim, not OD. Thanks though. I might just have to take my chances on this one.

You can get a good idea of what the 526L will be size-wise after soaking/washing by looking at the same tag size in the 526Lod, they are the exact same jackets, all we have done with the Lod is overdye the L version.

I need a new jacket and advice. At first I was going to buy 21 oz. Kind of default choice.
But the old wolves on this forum wrote that the 21 oz sleeves are too wide and slouch. Rather good for big framed guys (with somewhat present biceps) than slimmer ones like me.
They recommended 14 oz saying it has slimmer sleeve cut. So I decided to pass on 21 oz, but hasn't stop on 14 oz yet.
Can anyone, please, share their sleeve experience with this 19 oz super stiff beast? Watched videos, browsed pictures, but still couldn't figure out the sleeve thing.
Is it wide like with 21 oz? How would it be compared to 21 oz cut - wider, slimmer?
                            Thanks everybody in advance.
P.S. Stiffness is not scaring me out. Years ago started with 21 oz Unbranded which was rather breaking me in ))) So as a guy who knows the drill I am curious about 19 oz 🙂

@nurlank the sleeves are thinner, I own both and the 21oz has slightly wider sleeves, however it is not so much the weight but the tension, I own a 23oz Piger Works type1 and it is less rigid and hard than this 19oz left-handed at least at the beginning. If it can help you I'll post photos of the two jackets

Wide sleeves aren't necessarily a bad thing for skinny armed dudes. It makes layering with a UHF under much easier. I have slubby T2 that has wide sleeves that I love because I can layer this way. My T1 has super slim sleeves and I can't layer anything but a tshirt. So it depends on what you're after. It's nice to have options with a jacket that has wider sleeves and one slimmer...I have skinny arms and can say this. Just my 2 cents. It wouldn't deter me from buying an amazing heavyweight 21oz jacket.

Can anyone, please, share their sleeve experience with this 19 oz super stiff beast?

The sleeves on mine are pretty great. I can layer an UHF and wear just a tshirt. It's a wonderful, versatile jacket.

Is it wide like with 21 oz? How would it be compared to 21 oz cut - wider, slimmer?

It might depend on the size, but the sleeve width measurements are not posted in the size charts. You can shoot the IH shop email and they may be able to answer this question for you with measurements.

                                Thanks everybody in advance.

You are welcome! This jacket is just incredible and I highly recommend it. It is a wonderful beast.

@nurlank I was debating the two jackets myself. I could be wrong, but I think all the IH type 3's use the same pattern, but the fabric behaves differently. The 19oz LHT conforms to your body more, especially after soaking. So that's why it looks slimmer in the arms. I just picked up an IH corduroy jacket and that one fits slim in the arms as well, it's an awesome fit.

I've also been debating between the 526L and 526PJ (to eventually get down the road). I love how the 526L looks, but I'm afraid of the shrink. The raw size chart measurements for a XXXXL would fit me good, but the OD I'd be squeezing in to button up. I think I could lose around a half inch in the body and fit good still, but more than that and I'd be a sausage. Based on the shrink test on the product page, if I'm diligent about stopping washer before a spin forever maybe I can make it work, or go for a XXXXL in the 21oz and not worry about shrinkage.

Any more insight on comparing and contrasting the two jackets? And on user experience with shrinkage on the 526L in chest/waist/opening?

@jpvisual no my friend in my opinion in fact very often the dimensions change from batch to batch even if they are of the same model and fabric. I have often been tempted to repurchase the same jacket of the same fabric in the same size from one year to the next. Undoubtedly the type3 model with pockets is on paper longer and more tapered than a type3 without pockets or a tupe1/2 but sometimes this is not true. At the moment the jackets with the widest sleeves that I have are a 526pj 21oz indigo size 34 from three years ago and the 526-SBG size 36 released a few weeks ago. The slimmest and longest that I have are a 526L -indigo from two years ago size 36 and a 526j-SLBOd size 34 from last year…
